The moment she got an urgent text message from Mel, she didn't bother waiting to see what was wrong before getting out of bed. She was already rushing out the door to get to her to see what was up with her. When she finally reached the place she was staying at, she knocked on the door a few times then said, "Mel! It's Layla!" Normally, she would have brought snacks or drinks with her in a time like this, but she wanted to be by her side first. She was worried about what was going on in her life. Especially with what was going on before, she couldn't quite stand in one spot. Instead, she paced a little back and forth while waiting for the door to be opened.

Layla: She sighed and shook her head before standing back up. "What do you mean it's not what I think? I asked if you were sick and you didn't say yes or no, so I assume it's something that doesn't involve your health," she replied, turning her body to stare at her.
Mel: Mel looked down. "You can't tell anyone."
Layla: Rolling her eyes, she looked around the room for a moment and thought. She didn't want to drag the girl out of bed, but she also didn't want to start yelling at her. Still, Layla knew she had to get her thoughts across. "If you can't tell me what's going on with you, how do..." She stopped talking the moment she finally spoke up and furrowed her eyebrows as a reaction. "What was in the needle, Mel?"
Mel: "Heroin."
Layla: "And why couldn't you tell me this?" She rose an eyebrow at the girl then crossed her arms. "Why did you have to go to /Travis/ and not me, Mel?" Her voice was raising as she leaned against a wall. "Why heroin?"
Mel: Mel felt tears falling down her eyes. "Because- Because I thought I lost you! That night everybody was attacking me you went along with it I mean- you didn't say anything but you still retweeted and liked their posts. "And-and.. Travis he was there, he understands! I try so fucking hard not to let what people say get to me and before I would just call my mom up and she would make me feel better but she-she hates me now and wants nothing to do with me so I didn't have her! I'm not what people think I am, I'm not strong, I'm not brave. I'm fucking falling apart and the drugs they help me keep it together, I need them! You can't tell anyone Layla, please!" Mel was sobbing by now.
Layla: She licked her lips and glanced away. Mel had a point. She knew she should have at least been there by her side literally. Letting out a sigh, she sat back on the bed before crawling closer to her and sitting by her side. "I'm sorry," she said quietly before softly stroking the girl's hair. "You're right. I should have seen you, but I didn't. I just don't understand why they bother you so much, Mel. Why do you care what they say? They're not your friends." Laying down on her back, she turned her head toward her. "Why do you think your mom hates you? Is it because of the baby?" Reaching over to Mel, she wrapped her arms around her gently before kissing her forehead. "I won't tell anyone and I'm not going to go anywhere anymore. I'm sorry I wasn't by your side."
Mel: As soon as Layla said she wasn't going to leave her Mel broke down completely. "I-I got into a fight with her the night before her miscarriage and the doctors said she lost the baby due to stress, I blamed myself because when she was pregnant I knew how much she wanted the baby, and it was different with me you know? I was unexpected. "She wanted this baby so fucking badly and because of me being selfish she lost it." Mel tried to catch her breath but she was hyperventalating by now. "I drove home the next day, I-I needed to be with her, she kicked me out, she told me it was all my fault and-and that I was dead to her!" "She lost the baby because of me Layla, my baby sister, I killed my baby sister!" Mel stood up and started passing back and forth. "I've tried calling her, pleading and begging with her to forgive me, but- she-she hates. I wasn't popular in school, I had barely any friends beside Auburn and a few others. I've tried so hard to come off as brave and strong, make it look like I don't give a shit when I do, I can't fucking help it I don't want to care but I do! And Audrey she-she has never liked me I don't know why! "Am I just not likeable?! Why doesn't she like me?! I've always wondered why people leave me, my dad, and now my mother and I've finally figured it out. "I am the reason why they leave, I drive them away! Everything is falling apart, and all of it- everything is my fault."
Layla: "Shhhh," she whispered softly and continued to stroke her hair. She kept holding her closely and closed her eyes. "If your mom wants nothing to do with you, then she's an idiot. No offense. It's not your fault, Mel. You didn't do anything, except care about her. How were you even being selfish?" she asked, looking at her. "Do you want me to try talking to her?" She shrugged, not having an idea on how to actually cheer up a person. Most of her life, she just dealt with those who only enjoyed partying and drinking, so whenever someone had a problem, she had no idea how to truly make that person feel better. Still, she wanted to keep trying. Especially since Mel really needed it. "Hey, we're on the same boat. I didn't have many close friends, except Tony and probably three more people. You are right though. You aren't strong and I'm not saying that to hurt you, Mel. I'm saying this because you are one of my best friends and somebody has to tell you what any other person could think. You aren't strong because you depended on drugs instead of going to those who cared about you. You have a house full of sisters and you didn't trust them enough that they'd be on your side. I mean, what about Calypso? She would have showed she cared about you." Closing her eyes, she hugged her a bit tighter. "I know you don't want me to tell anyone, but... I think we need to bring you to a hospital, Mel. You can't keep going to drugs for help." Pursing her lips, she reopened her eyes before glancing down at Mel. "...Who gave you heroin anyway?"
Mel: "No its not her fault, it's mine.. I was jealous, I was jealous of that baby having what I didn't. She'd have a mother and a father. Calypso? Layla she's in their little girl group now, she's friends with Audrey and the rest of them who've done nothing but treat me like shit! Say I'm nothing, nobody likes me! I was told that all through out high school I really thought it'd be different here. No! Y-You promised you wouldn't tell! You can't tell anyone Layla! Why couldn't they just like me... "What did I do?" Mel sunk to her knees. "I just want them to like me. Earlier at Stassi's in the bathroom I did a line of coke, and I got some pills off a dealer."
Layla: "And you didn't have a dad?" she asked, furrowing her eyebrows. "At least you'd still have your mom, Mel. Look, just try talking to her again. We can do it now, if you want. I'll be here and I'm not leaving anytime soon. I can even sleep over, if you want." She nodded her head a few times before turning her head to the ceiling, her arms loosening up as she placed on hand on her stomach while her other arm was still wrapped around Mel. "That's what you think, Mel. She wouldn't abandon a friend like that easily. At least, I doubt she will. You really need to trust us more. I get why you don't, but... might as well take a few risks, right?" Hearing her refusal, she nodded again. "Fine, fine. It was just a suggestion anyway, but how will you continue being president if your health is at stake?" She glanced over at the brunette and stroked her hair once more before placing her hand back by her side. "Not everyone is going to like you, Mel. That's just life and the more you let them show that they're hurting you, only you're making them feel satisfied." Squinting at her response about who was giving her drugs, she shook her head. "No. I meant, who's your dealer? I want to know who's giving these to you."
Mel: "You guys deserve a better president then me. But I can't do anything, everytime I try to post on twitter they say something they always have something to say!" "Bailey at Stassi's house, Ray, everyone! I got them from a dealer outside of campus." she lied. She wasn't one to snitch.
Layla: "I know. You keep saying that. Which is why I'm your competition. I mean, who else cares about the Deltas beside you? Cailin could have volunteered, but we both know I'd never let her win and I doubt she cares about her sisters. That could be a lie though, but considering you two had that little fight, what's the point of being president if you create bad blood with your sisters?" She shook her head before asking, "What was that about anyway? I think Carson told me she threatened you?" She let out a sigh before sitting up, moving her arm away from the other as she brought her knees close to her chest and hugged her legs. "Right. I think I left early before I could see the whole thing happen. I had to go do other stuff, unfortunately." She nodded her head a few times than glanced at the blankets before saying, "Well, let them know that if I ever see him or her with you and passing drugs to you, I will knock them out." She smiled at Mel then got under the covers of the bed and started getting comfortable. "So, do you want me to sleepover or do you want to be alone?"
Mel: "She threatened to kill me. You can stay...I-I want you to stay. You won't have to run against me, as of right now you are president of Delta Alpha Delta."
Layla: She nodded before asking, "How come you haven't said anything to the administration? Or everyone else? I mean, I had to hear it from Carson, so I doubt everybody else on campus knew about it. Unless you guys talked about it on Twitter and I just barely paid attention because I never liked Twitter fights to begin with." A smile appeared on Layla's face as she let her legs go to hug her. "Good, because I didn't really want to leave. By the way, do you forgive me? For not being by your side from the beginning? That was really shitty of me and I'm still sorry. Oh! Before I forget, I know you don't like Tony, so... If he ever bothers you, just tell me, alright? He may be my longest best friend, but I don't mind kicking his ass for you." Her smile grew at Mel's answer before slowly shaking her head. "You sure you don't want to make a competition out of this? We can have the sisters vote, if you want."
Mel: "Of course I forgive you. I already know who they'll vote for."
Layla: Softly, she placed her hands on her cheeks and laughed quietly. "I promise I won't let you down, Mel. I know how much you loved them and thank you for forgiving me. Just... try to take it easy with the heroin, alright? I don't want 911 to call me and tell me you're at the hospital."
Mel: Mel laid her head on her shoulder. "I'll try."
Layla: She closed her eyes and inhaled deeply. "I wish I could take all your pain away, but there's no way I can stop all those students and then your mom. ...What about your mom? Do you want me to try talking to her right now? Do you want to try talking to her again? Maybe she finally feels guilty. Deep down, I doubt it, but that's because my mom never cared about me. Except yours did, so she seems to have a heart."
Mel: "She's better off without me."
Layla: "You don't know that. She could be missing you right now."
Mel: "She changed her number Layla.. I have no way of getting it."
Layla: "Shit," she mumbled and rolled her eyes. However, within seconds, she thought of another idea. "What about the hospital? They have to have her number, right? We can at least try that, right? It doesn't have to be today or it can be later, but I'm just thinking."
Mel: "She was born in Puerto Rico. And even if they did have her number from when she was there, it's confidential."
Layla: She shrugged and sat up again. "We can try to steal it. Nothing's impossible. And if that doesn't work, we can tell them your story and someone should at least feel bad for you and hand over her number. ...Or do you not think it's a good idea?" she replied, furrowing her eyebrows at Mel.
Mel: "I don't know.."
Layla: "Well, whatever you decide, I'm here. I'll always be here."
Sighing, she headed towards the place Mel was staying at currently. She wanted to check up on the girl considering she found her in Travis’ room the last time and didn’t seem like herself. Knocking on the door, she could have opened it right away if it were anybody else, but considering who she was, she assumed the door was locked. “Mel? It’s Layla. I came over to talk to you. I think it’s time for us to have a heart to heart conversation.” Leaning against the wall, she glanced at everything else while waiting for the brunette to answer.
