1: when you have cereal, do you have more milk than cereal or more cereal than milk? — Slightly more milk than cereal, but I do try to keep the ratio even.
11: what's an inner joke you have with your friends? — I’ll stick with coworkers for this one. Before we split half the staff and they moved to the other location nearby, we had four supervisors on site. One of them in particular was goofy, always joking and trying to keep the mood up. Earnestly silly, sometimes to the point of being lovingly stupid. He once had this moment of absolute confusion when they were all gathered around talking about something and he said, “whatthefuckisthat?!” You lose the funny part of it without the delivery, but it was fast and loud and hysterical. To this day, whenever anyone of us gets confused, we refer to it as having a “Sean moment” and someone will yell out “whatthefuckisthat?!”
21: talk about your favorite bag, the one that's been to hell and back with you and that you love to pieces. — I inadvertently had to give up my personal possessions from the ages of 16 to 23, right before we moved house. The old place had been nothing but problems from the moment we moved in, but it had only gotten worse in the end. By then, my mom felt the house was blighted, so she preferred us not to take anything from it. All this is to say, I no longer have any of the bags I’ve had some of the best memories with. My life now is very routine and monotonous, so even the bags that I do have now (all of which I love) have not been with me to hell and back in the same way. But the one I’m thinking of as I type this? A reversible cloth tote from Aeropostale. Solid white body. Gray lower half. Pink and gray straps. On the inside? Solid pink with small, metallic stars. I fucking loved that bag that got me through two damn years of high school. The bag I could lay on the table and hide my phone inside of so I could text during lunch without getting caught. That went to Florida with me for one of the last times we’d ever go there. I miss her every day.
33: what's your fave pastry? — Croissants. Alternatively, anything raspberry- or lemon-filled.
63: are you fussy about your books and music? do you keep them meticulously organized or kinda leave them be? — I’m the least fussy person; as long as something looks neat, I’m happy. But I will say that when I had physical CDs and DVDs, everything was alphabetized. When I switched to a digital music library, the one thing I made sure of was that all my albums had the correct cover art. On my current external hard drive, all the downloaded media I have (shows and movies alike) is organized into folders, and since computers already alphabetize things for you, I don’t have to go the extra step.
75: tell us about your pets! — I don’t have any pets.
79: what's one of the cutest things someone has ever done for you? — My coworker Yolanda used to bring me snacks nearly every day because she was worried that I wasn’t eating enough—but also because she wanted to clear her house of things she felt her fiancé shouldn’t be eating. She’s working from home now, so we haven’t traded snacks in months, but every time she tosses something onto my desk as she passes by, it makes me laugh.
