As morning rises on the Abnegation sector of the Arena, the four Dauntless Tributes are talking away outside on the street. The sounds and smells of vomit lingered throughout the walls of Chuck and Serena’s Abnegation home. After stupidly drinking water, not filtered, Serena has rapidly developed a wicked parasite in her system, causing her to be in a weakened state and hurl everything left in her stomach. The sun was barely beginning to rise, as Serena was busy throwing up last night’s meal of canned fruit in the bathroom, after accidently vomiting on the living room floor. Chuck was away in the kitchen boiling a pot of water for her to drink. Everything seemed almost fine, like the past two days hadn’t happened.
After the busy schedule of vomiting, the tall blonde returns to the bed, when the front door slowly creaked open, revealing four dauntless members.
“What the Hell even is that smell.”
“I don’t even know but it smells like shit.”
“Probably because it is shit.” Dorian made the obvious point that no one had said out loud and shook his head as he kept looking around.
For all they knew Serena was alone and ill; an easy kill. Serena stands to her feet, groaning as she feels her insides churning. The smirk on the Dauntless faces divulging the fact they weren’t leaving the house without spilling blood on the Abnegation grounds.
“Hey guys.” Serena greets them with a weak smile, one that the Dauntless did not return back. Fabio, being a true dauntless leader, commands the way inside the house, heading towards Serena’s petrified body.
Serena attempts to make a run for her dagger until Melodee points a handgun at her head. “I just was leaving—” Serena says throwing her hands up.
“Oh sweetie.. What makes you think you are leaving?” Melodee retorts, cocking her gun.
The other Dauntless stand silently, grinning with arrogance, weapons at the ready. Serena knew she was beyond fucked. In fact that would be the understatement of a century. Serena knows there is almost no chance of her leaving, in this weakened condition, from this house.
Serena looks to Fabio and Isa, hoping some kind of mercy would be shown for her charisma back at the training center. No emotions come across as the realization that is no longer the training center sinks in.
The two Dauntless girls looked at each for a quick moment before nodding in agreement, knowing that would be the best bet for this fight. Melodee pulled the trigger and watched as the bullet stroke Serena in the thigh. The girl collapsed to the ground, holding her thigh with both hands to try to stop the bleeding as she cried out in pain. Melodee glanced over at Dorian for a moment, feeling so relieved that she had managed to get her hands on the gun or maybe that wouldn’t have turned out so well.
Isa slammed her boots into Serena’s wrists the moment she reached the weakened girl, crunching Serena’s bones underneath her weight. Serena cried out as the other blonde restricted her from moving. It didn’t seem like a fair fight but hell, life wasn’t fair. Melodee sat on top of the girl’s chest, holding Serena’s head still between her feet. Taking out the jumper cables from her pack, Melodee held them up to Serena and smirked.
"We should see how good of a dentist I am, don’t you think?" Melodee said as Isa held the rest of the girl’s body still. "One, for betraying Chessa." Melodee said through gritted teeth as she took the plier end of the jumper cables and clamped it onto one of Serena’s front teeth. Without waiting a moment longer, Melodee yanked out the girl’s tooth. A muffled scream erupted from Serena’s mouth as blood started to pour out of the open gap and streamed down her throat. "And two, for trying to hurt my boyfriend." Melodee growled, clamping the other end of the jumper cable around Serena’s other tooth before slowly pulling it out. Serena tried to thrash out from the Dauntless girls’ grips but she was unable to as Isa kicked the girl hard in the gut.
"You’re sick monsters!" Serena gurgled out, spitting blood up at Melodee and Isa. Melodee stood and took Isa’s spot of standing on the girl’s wrists, so now it was turn for Isa to do what she wanted.
"At least we’re not gap-toothed bitches," Melodee snorted, rolling her eyes as she laughed. "Oh wait, I guess neither are you now." Isa smiled up at Melodee’s comment before leaning down to Serena.
Chuck, hearing the commotion in the other room, turns off the stove, grabbing the boiling pot of water with his blue bandana, slowly creeping his way into the living room. He almost curses under his breath when spotting the backs of not one, but four dauntless members. They just barely made it out alive from the fight with a pair from Abnegation, and now this? Somebody had to be joking. Chuck shuffles a few steps forward, allowing Fabio to hear his presence. Fabio turns his head around, only to be greeted by the scalding water splashing on his pretty boy face. The water causes his skin to blister and crack as he frantically attempts to scream. Without delay, Chuck clobbers him several times in the cranium with the hot pot knocking him clear out of his consciousness.
Dorian came up behind him and grabbed onto Chuck’s throat and squeezed it tight before slamming the boy’s back against the wall. Dorian squeezed tighter and tighter until his face started to turn an unhealthy shade of pink. Fabio slowed down his breathing to help compose himself, and he placed his hand on Dorian’s shoulder. Chuck wasn’t going to have a death that easy.
As soon as Dorian let go of Chuck’s throat, he wasted no time in trying to get away, not really caring about what Isa and Melodee were doing to his ally. He swung his fist at Dorian, little to his knowledge, Chuck had a brass knuckle on and the force knocked Dorian off of his feet.
With everyone’s attention on Chuck, Serena manages to sneak a dagger out of her boot. Without hesitation, she thrust it in a downward motion deep into Melodee’s back, making her into the new sheath. Serena, not feeling satisfied, doesn’t stop there. She continues plunging the dagger along Melodee’s spine, ripping right through the arena uniform, cutting down to the bone. The warm sticky spray of blood, blasting across Serena’s repulsed face, as she continues to drag the dagger along Melodee’s vertebrae. The wide eyed brunette lets out a deafening shriek of horror, filling the room as she hastily tries to fire her gun. Melodee manages to aimlessly fire off two shots, grazing Serena’s previously open wound, before the blonde jars it out of her grasp, sending it flying across the room. Melodee then topples over, whimpering motionless from the pain.
"You’re just playing along to their games now! I thought you guys were the ones that would stand up against them the most. But you know what, you’re not brave at all. You’re just cowards!" Serena manages to cough out as she slowly starts choking on her own blood. For an Amity girl, she sure didn’t seem too peaceful.
"Shut up! God, you talk way too much. Let me fix that for you." Isa snaps as she punches Serena’s jaw, making the girl let out another scream and giving Isa enough time to place her left hand on the girl’s bottom jaw and her right on the top.
Serena feels her stomach begin to churn up as she knows what is coming. Her breakfast. Before she even has a chance to move she vomits all over Isa’s face, landing chunks of the bile into her mouth. Isa stands back to her feet, gagging in disgust. The Dauntless rapidly grabs Serena’s throat and squeezes. A small fragile wail leaves the Amity’s lips as she pulls away bumping her head into the wall.
Slowly, Isa began pulling her hands in opposite directions, slowly ripping Serena’s jaw. Serena screamed, her eyes wide with fear, she thrashed her body around but it was no use - the weight of Isa was too much to knock her over and the Dauntless girl already had the upper hand. As Isa began to rip apart the girl’s jaw, her cheeks began to bleed as they were beginning to be ripped apart. Once Isa saw her cheeks ripping apart, the Dauntless girl thought it was finally time to put Serena out of her misery. With one final, hard pull, Isa ripped apart Serena’s jaw.
Meanwhile, Chuck rushes for his sword, which lays beside the bed, but Dorian is tight on his tail, sending a knife at Chuck’s lower leg, forcing him fall to the ground before he can take another step. Whilst on the floor Chuck spots the gun that Melodee had lost in the struggle of her back being ripped open. Weaponless and desperate Chuck extends his reach forward, successfully grabbing the gun. He turns around to find Dorian with his right arm raised, ready to bring down the knife to end Chucks life. Gathering all his bravery and strength Chuck points the gun at Dorian and rapidly fires. Chuck, being not experienced, aim was bad as the bullet mistakenly strikes Dorian in the manhood, crumpling him to the ground with a loud scream. Gaining the advantage, Chuck hops back up, getting closer to make his aim better. The Erudite boy directs the gun at Dorians forehead, as if the gun and his mind were synced. Chuck pulls back on the trigger, blasting the back of Dorians head wide open, splattering bits of brain and skull matter against the pale floor of the abnegation house. Chuck falls over to the floor panting, as Dorian’s cannon booms off in the distance. The cannon was followed by the screams of the immobilized Melodee, when she sees the lifeless body of her lover.
Quickly, Isa stood up and retrieved her axe from her pack. She returned to Serena’s body and slammed the weapon into the girl’s chest. Isa heard the familiar sound of bones crunching but she wasn’t done yet. Serena felt weak but she was still alive, once Isa lowered herself to Serena’s face with her axe, the girl thought it was a perfect moment for revenge, or at least an attempt at it.
Her hands gripped at her dagger, pulling it from Melodee’s back and slamming it into Isa’s left shoulder. Isa let out a scream of pain, knocking the weapon out of Serena’s hand, Isa looked down at the girl with anger boiling in her blood.
"It’s really too bad you decided to stick with that dumbass from Erudite instead of staying true to your faction. Maybe then you wouldn’t have been in this situation. But you know what? I don’t really give a fuck." Isa spits.
Isa thought it was enough of this foreplay and felt the need to put the pathetic girl out of her misery. Grabbing her axe, Isa looked in Serena’s eyes, her lips curling into a wicked smile. “Good night bitch.” Isa sneered before slamming her axe into the Amity girl’s head. The cannon echoed through the arena signaling her death. Isa stood up from the limp girl’s body and looked at Melodee with a sad smile, knowing that she’s paralyzed and bleeding out.
By now, Chuck has escaped from the house with Melodee’s gun and 7 remaining bullets but nothing else. As Melodee bleeds out, Isa is left alone, covered in vomit. As she pulls Fabio’s body over to Melodee’s, she hold him in her arms until Melodee’s cannon fires. Eventually, Fabio regains consciousness although he’s dizzy and has a concussion and severe burns riddle his face. They are left to pick over the remaining weapons and stay to recuperate or find a new house to do so in… since there’s vomit all over this one.
Caesar: Let's hear it for our first Dauntless female, and from what I know of her, prepare to be stunned folks! Give a hand for Melodee Winston! *crowd cheers*
Melodee: *struts across stage with a confident smile on her face* Well, aren’t you just lucky to have me here? *laughs and winks at Caesar*
Caesar: *chuckles* You have no idea how lucky I feel! Aren't you gorgeous! I must admit, I love the traces of blue left on your skin, is that something you picked up in Dauntless? It's ever so subtle, but beautiful!
I sat in a large chair in the corner of the room. Melodee lay in the center on a long metal table, identical the one she would have been in during her prep time. I tapped my finger on my chin as I watched her. The drugs would wear off any minute now.
It was only a few seconds before Melodee’s eyes popped open. She attempted to sit up, but of course, she was restrained by the metal bars that ran across her body. She could do nothing but lift her head- barely. She looked over at me.
“What the fuck is this?” She demanded. I smiled.
“This is me, controlling your fate.” I said. “Begin.” With that, the team behind her step forward and grabbed her head. She jerked away, but it was no use. One held her still while another turned on a hose, and began to wet her hair. She screamed, as the water was just below scorching. The last member of the prep team took a hose and washed off her naked body. This water was almost freezing. She wiggled under the prep teams grasp.
“What are you going to do to me?” She screamed.
“Spoilers!” I chirped, standing to get a better view. The team finished, and put the hoses away. All three of them pulled out large tubes of cream. Melodee looked hopelessly confused, which made me grin. They mixed the creams in bowls mixing in other bottles as well and dipping in their brushes. Two members brushed their mixtures into Melodee’s hair while the other brushed it onto her skin. She lathered it on thick until she was covered with the greasy mess.
“Is this supposed to hurt? Burn off my skin?” She asked.
“Oh no dear. You see, I’ve decided to be the bigger person. I’m not going to hurt you. These mixtures are completely harmless.” I told her. She gave me an odd look. The team then lowered a large bubble onto the table and heat blasted through it. Melodee screamed, but it only lasted for a second. The bubble then lifted, and she thrashed against the bars.
“I thought you said you weren’t going to hurt me!” She yelled.
“Well, I might have lied a little bit.” I said with a laugh. “Take it off.” I ordered and the team took the hoses out once again, rinsing the cream off of her body with the freezing and scorching water until she was clean once again. Her eyes were wet with tears and I walked up to her face as the team members pulled out dryers and dried her off in seconds. One member continued to work with Melodee’s hair, while another took out a palette and made up her face.
“You see, here, you can’t do anything you want. You may have thought that back in your cute little town, you were free. You were Dauntless, you could do whatever you pleased, right? You were the most powerful being there was.” I leaned in close to her ear. “Not anymore.” The prep team finished and stepped back. One handed me a mirror, I nodded and thanked him.
“Now, whether you like it or not-” I said, holding the mirror in front of her face. “You’re one of us.” I smiled. Melodee gasped. Her hair, now tightly curled, was a bright shade of orange. It practically glowed. Her skin now took on a light blue hue, and her face was caked in Capitol makeup, her eyelashes unnaturally long, and, along with her lips, had a color that matched that of her hair. “Do you like it?” I asked with a cackle.
She turned her gaze towards me. “You think you’re so clever. You can dye my hair, my skin, do whatever you want to my appearance, but I will never be one of you!” She yelled, and spit in my face. I smiled, wiping it away.
“You stupid girl, you already are.” I said in a sweet voice. “You see, you live, and you’re a Capitol trophy. You can move back home but your endless trips back will be mandatory. If you die, well then you’re just another piece in our games. Sorry cupcake.” I laughed and turned on my heels, and marched out the door.
Caesar: Alright folks, up next comes one of our few Dauntless females, Melodee Winston!
Claudius: Wow, look at that outfit, looks like she'll be stealing a few Capitol hearts tonight!
Caesar: She looks like a warrior ready for battle! I love the black corset, and that hood is just fabulous! That's what we like to see, a fearless competitor!
