boostle fanfic title JUMPSCARE (blue beetle 1986 #4)
Ted Kord outfits. DC should let Ted dress like this again, he lost something when they stopped having him be ...this colorful.
[id: A comic panel showing Ted Kord, a white man with curly red hair, entering a room. He's wearing a white shirt with a yellow sweater vest with black and red stripes over it. Blue pants, a blue hat, and has a blue jacket slung over his shoulder.
Ted: Evening, Angie. Still holding down the fort, I see. How's your sick uncle? /end id]
[id: A crop of a panel showing Ted Kord wearing a white top with a blue tie, a yellow sweater with black/red stripes over it, red suspenders, blue pants, and a gold watch on each wrist.
Ted (thinking): Even without my costume, I still smell like smoldering rags! /end id]
[id: A comic panel showing Ted Kord being pulled out of a room by his arm by his girlfriend, Melody Case, he and his secretary, Angela Revere, converse while this happens. Ted is wearing a white top with a red bow tie and red cap, a black v neck sweater with a yellow trim and a white K over his left breast, white pants, black socks, and pale grey shoes.
Ted: Thanks, kid-- that's one I owe you--! Angie: Gee, sir-- you don't owe me anything. Mel: Enough kibbitzing, Kord-- we've got work to do, remember? Ted: Uh-oh, Angie-- duty calls! See ya later, okay? /end id]
[id: Two comic panels of Ted Kord, thinking with a glum expression. He is wearing a black stripped orange shirt, a black and blue jacket with yellow trim, a red K over his left breast and orange elbow pads, a red scarf with green stripes, blue pants, and black shoes.
Ted (thinking): --So that Ted Kord can find out why one of his closest friends and employees is getting beaten on by thugs! Never a dull moment, is there? Wish I'd known what I was getting into, old buddy-- /end id]
[id: A panel of Ted Kord and his girlfriend, Melody Case, in his office talking, Ted is sitting on his desk instead of in his chair. Ted is wearing a yellow shirt with a teal tie, a purple jacket, green pants, and yellow shoes.
Mel: Well, if Muhammad won't come to the mountain... Hey, you okay, lover? You look like somebody just backed a bus over your dog! Ted: That bad, huh? /end id]
[id: A panel showing Ted Kord talking to his secretary, Angela Revere, leaving on her desk, both of them smiling. Ted is wearing a light green shirt with a red tie, a darker green jacket over it with matching pants, a white lab coat over all that, and lavender shoes.
Ted: Your dedication to duty is commendable, Ms. Revere-- but we can handle things here until tomorrow. Honest we can. Angie: No, really, Mr. Kord--it's okay. I don't mind--! /end id]
[id: A comic panel showing Ted Kord on a short ramp talking to his girlfriend, Melody Case, her expression angry. Ted is wearing a white shirt, a green and orange striped sweater over it, maroon pants, and green shoes.
Ted: That Angela Revere has petit mal epilepsy? Since she first started working for me. Mel: So why didn't you tell me? /end id]

I don't think I will ever emotionally recover from these two
(also surprise Melody)

You really miss him, don’t you?
Obviously a whole lot more than he misses me.
Blue Beetle Vol 2 5: "Ask The Right Question!"
Me: Man, the whole bullshit of Ted's partner not knowing shit even when its clear that its harmful for everyone involved is bullshit. OG pre-DC Ted didn't have these problems b/c he had the foresight to just tell his partner what was up. Me: This drama with Melody is so unnecessary and I don't even like her. Wish we had my girl Tracey
My brain: You know... if we're writing a fixit fic we could just get rid of Melody and have Tracey around? Right? We could literally just remove that drama from the plot.
Me: ...right... i could just do that
