What would Nico and Will get up to in a devoted DnD game?

ok so like when i first saw this ask ((like so long ago yikes sorry)) i immediately took some online tests to see what will and nico would most likely play as so idk if u saw that post but we’re gonna ignore that entirely bc i did some more research during class on monday and i like these way better

dnd started out as something the athena kids did in their free time and then slowly spread through camp (athena kids are usually still DM but hermes kids also make really good DMs)

Malcolm DMs for will and nicos party which includes like cecil and lou and a couple other random campers, and malcolm comes up with some pretty crazy stuff but doesnt have the right party for the quests like when it takes longer than 30 minutes for them to figure out his puzzles he gets super impatient and sometimes just lets them skip over the super complicated ones altogether (he’ll save them for an all-athena party)

When will makes his character he wants something way different than how he is as a person so hes in the fighter class and is incredibly protective over everyone in his party and pretty frequently he forgets that hes not a healer and tries to heal his party members and malcolm is always like “will if u dont stop trying to heal i swear ill kill ur character”

will is a wood elf ranger, btw who is very strong and super fast and has proficiency in perception/investigation things

nico didnt realize when he was making his character that ti doesnt need to be just like him so hes a necromancer cleric with weapons proficiency and has very low charisma but high intimidation and since he is a cleric he has some healing abilities but never remembers that so the entire party will be dying and he’ll be like,,, ‘oh yeah’

Will and nico always sit super close to each other while playing and whenever nico gets confused about something will tries to explain it but is usually wrong so malcolm corrects him. they both point out things on each others character sheets and give each other ideas and its usually bc of will that nico ever heals anybody

its not a lot but ive never played dnd so my knowledge is limited basically just to the adventure zones and dumb tumblr posts so i hope its what you were looking for and i would love to hear anybody elses ideas!!thanks for the suggestion!!!

Will is a siren, and Nico is a professional violinist who lives near the ocean.

ok so i’ll get to ur other ask as soon as possible but that might not be until next week so sorry???? i promise im working on it im just busy but anyway heres this list under the cut bc its pretty long

nicos new house is like super close to the water and theres no others nearby and the place had been abandoned for almost ten years before nico bought it

there had been three cases of people disappearing from the house and one suicide so nobody else wanted to live there bc they thought it was cursed but nico didnt care about that bc hes nico but also bc the place seemed like real good inspiration for writing some new music

sometimes he can hear really distant music coming from somewhere outside and it really makes him want to go out onto the balcony to hear it better but at the same time?? hes gotta immediately try to copy that music bc its not like anything hes ever heard before and its beautiful

he only ever hears it like once a week at most so for the time in between he stands out on the balcony and plays his violin hoping that whatever had started playing the music will play his melody back to him to help him write it but it never really works and the tune is never quite the same as what he heard originally

he goes out to the dock on the ocean one day and plays some random tunes on his violin and like lets his feet soak in the water for a while and then something starts to play his song back to him??? and its super overwhelming like he almost drops his violin which would k i l l him if it got damaged so he sets it aside and waits

he closes his eyes and listens for the melody again but it never comes and then something splashes close by and something scaly brushes his foot which startles him into pulling his feet out of the water and when he opens his eyes theres a beautiful boy propped up on the edge of the dock in front of him???

wills got super blue eyes that glow even in the sunlight and matching blue scales that cover his tail and he just folds his arms over the edge of the dock and rests his chin on his arms and pouts up at nico and hes like “why did you stop???”

will starts humming the same melody that nicos been hearing for months now and nico starts leaning forward toward the sound completely enthralled by it and will stops and hes like “i like you youre much prettier than all the others had been” and nicos like????? what????? does that mean????

will fricken LAUNCHES himself out of the water and puts his webbed hands on nicos cheeks and pulls him in for a kiss and falls back into the water and takes nico with him

nico full out kicks will in the chest to get will to let go of him and then steps on his face to get himself back out of the water and when he gets back up on the dock he looks down at will whos pouting at him again and nicos like ok,,,,,, maybe dont try to kill me again,,,,,,,,, but youve got very good music taste and maybe u could give me a hand with something here,,,,,,,, and thats how they become music partners
