Today’s Suikoden II character is Connell!

EEEEEEE! Connell is so adorable! I love him! I just want to hug him! <3

I think it’s great that Connell studies sounds. I feel like it was a very clever choice. It fits into the Suikoden universe, and doesn’t break the wall like Melodye’s weird “Sound Rune.” 

...Okay, I was wrong. According to Gensopedia, the Sound Rune is also in Connell’s possession. Whatever.

At least his hat is a little more subtle than Melodye’s.

And he cares about his sister. Awww.

Today’s character is Melodye!

How would you like to be someone like Melodye? First of all, you’re one of those unfortunate souls who have a perfectly normal name, but with an “e” stuck on the end for no reason. Secondly, you’re told that you have a special gift, but you need a special crystal to use it–one you apparently can’t obtain yourself.

And finally…What does this crystal actually do? It changes the sounds your game makes. That is literally it. How aware is she of this rune’s fourth-wall nature? Is she aware that she is a character in a video game, created for nothing more than the amusement of the players? I mean, she has no emotional significance to most of us; she’s merely there as a novelty. How much Melodye fanart is there in the world? Fanfiction? How many fangirls and fanboys does she have?

Then again, her hat is even more ridiculous than Sasarai’s, so maybe she really doesn’t give a fuck.
