i will never understand the need some people feel to separate ships by who tops and who bottoms. the "yeah i ship a/b NOT b/a"

cause even if you have a strong preference for which character tops and which one bottoms, its still the same ship the other way around!!! theyre still the same characters with the same personalities!!! stop acting like theyre two contradictory ships!!!

love the idea of brudick having a 9 year age gap specifically so bruce and others can be like "im/hes a decade older than you" and dick reflexively going "9 years" "its only 9 years" "we're not a decade apart" "hes not that much older than me" "its not a decade"

people see jason brute forcing his way through a problem and think its cause hes not smart enough or because he has no patience or that hes inherently violent etc etc

but its like. hes only brute forcing his way through things when he determines that thats the best and/or most efficient way to do things in that moment

he had all the same training dick did under bruce and no one thinks dick is stupid

and we have pages and pages of examples of jason being clever and patient and kind but people see "oh well he killed people" and draw the line at "violent" being his main character trait. its so crazy to me.

the man who spent three hours setting a bomb on the batmobile THAT HE DIDNT EVEN USE, and this was """peak violent""" jason times where he was actively killing people

and it spans across a bunch of different iterations of his character

i think back to that scene in the gotham knights game where hes like "okay im gonna go rough up some goons to get the info we need"

and everyone jumps down his throat about how thats not how they do things and they have this other piece of info that they need to look into first and then are all immediately proven wrong and they DO have to go rough up some goons to get the info they needed its just like. even batman uses fear and intimidation to get information, thats a huge part of his whole Thing, but jason is the only one getting shit for doing it?

tim has a bad day so he just suits up and finds the red hood and starts a fight unprovoked

jason, taking a short break on a roof, enjoying the night air, and then red robin comes and just sucker punches him

he fights back, of course, blow for blow. and finally jason pins tim down, demands an answer for why hes being "such a little bitch" and of course tim isn't going to humor him with a true answer- surges up to kiss him to shut him the fuck up

flash forward and they definitely have hot, mean sex right there on the rooftop

please be so serious right now. where is the critical thinking in the chat. bruce takes his no-kill morals very seriously, this is the equivalent of the people who say tim killed a bunch of loa members when he blew up ra's' bases. no the fuck he didnt. do you understand the mental breaks either of these guys would have if they had that much blood on their hands?? they freak out over much less

i get that it can be fun to view comics from the lens of our world, but you've gotta remember that thats more of a thought exercise than it actually being true to whats happening on page. and in most cases, if you view batman as actually killing all these guys he's beating up, then you are actively refusing to engage with the story the comics are actually trying to tell
