Alisha stood at a fold out table organizing papers for the group that would be using the center for the next few days. She was trying to act normal but it was so hard. It'd been weeks since Simon--her Simon--future Simon-- had died and then the thing with Jessica. She tried not to look at Simon while she made stacks of colorful paper. What she wanted to do was go up to him and kiss him and hold him and just know that he was real and there and that he loved her. But she couldn't do that.
This Simon didn't even know she liked him. Besides, he'd been seeing another girl recently. She bit her lip.
"Are you ah, are you still seeing that girl."
She didn't look up as she asked and prayed she didn't sound weird or mean.
❝ yeah. thanks fer yer input there, mate. ❞
