Melt Your Headaches // Ludo&Open /
The night was impossibly dark as Ludo sauntered down the street, a bottle of whiskey tucked in the crook of his arm. He hadn't even had more than a few sips of it which was the worst part, avoiding the very thing he had wasted his money on, avoiding the mindlessness that he had wanted to receive from it. Why? He didn't even know the answer. He was ignoring the fact that he didn't like drinking that much, trying to gulp down the remedy that the books he'd read had told him about. It wasn't working.
His body ached, strung up and tired, yet still he never paused in his step or turned to head back home, only pushing himself further as he hunched his body against the cool wind.
God. He missed them. He missed them so much it hurt deep in his chest, like his very heart was being squeezed by a cruel hand. It had been, what, six- seven years? Was it even worse that he was finding it hard to remember how long he'd spent without them? He was an awful son, an awful brother, he knew it wasn't fair of him to live while his family didn't especially when they had so much to still offer to the world. His father was the most talented baker he knew, his mother a wonder with a needle, and his brother.. Felix.. Felix was so smart, so agile with a blade, so humble.. so young. Ludo was nothing. He wasn't there to save his family, he was nothing.
Ludo choked back a sob as he dropped his weight against the rough bricks of a building, using the frayed end of his shirt to wipe at the tears that threatened to streak down his cheeks. He wasn't going to let himself cry, he wasn't even worthy to mourn anymore, and anyway, once he started he knew he wouldn't be able to stop. Instead he took a deep breath, cleared his throat, and carried on his way, barely making it around the corner before he had knocked straight into someone.
The sound of the whiskey bottle smashing against the pavement was enough to make Ludo flinch, pulling his fingers through his dark hair as he watched it leak over the pavement.
"Great.." He sighed, grimacing as he shook some glass from the toe of his shoe before crouching down to start picking up the shattered pieces. Raising his honey eyes, Ludo's gaze met that of the being before him, he was surprised they hadn't left already.
