Haven't drawn in a while but anyway, here's phoenician fine shyt Membliarus.

There's no deny I'm a huge Cadmonia Shipper to the point where I usually give a huge bombastic side eye even to the idea of Tiresias/Cadmus or Sphinx/Cadmus content (even though it's techinically way more accurate than the abomination that Medusa/Cadmus/Psyche threesome was) but... the concept of Membliarus and Cadmus having a peak bromance is there.

Okay, so we know close to nothing about Membliarus besides the fact that a) his father was called Poecilus and b) Cadmus left him at the head of a colony in the island of Thera or Calliste. Which means that headcanons and interpretations are free.

Membliarus Headcanons:

His father was a maritime trader and senior merchant, thus coming from a family with a high status and influence;

Despite of being phoenician he also has assyrian heritage and this is mostly reflected in his clothing;

Him and Cadmus were childhood friends;

He's the type of person to be somber, morose and peevish most of the time, though deep inside he cares about those close to him;

He was in love with Europa at one point but by the time she got kidnapped his feelings have already faded away;

He was good at maths but sucked at foreign languages (compared to Cadmus whom I imagine to be fluent in multiple languages but suck at math);

Compared to his sour personality and attitude he's actually a womanizer and most court ladies found him to be a charming, desirable man;

Doesn't talk unless it's necessary but loves travelling a lot - he's a man of actions, not words;

Due to his upbringing he ended up consuming Cannabis and Opium, firstly for medicinal and religious purposes and later in order to cope with stress and effort. He also has black teeth precisely because of this;

Part of the reason why he became an addict is also because he's a huge workaholic who cannot rest, which is also why Cadmus put him in this position of power before leaving Callista;

Him and Cadmus had the exact same age but he looked significantly older than him due to his unhealthy habits and lack of sleep;

During his reign as the leader of Callista the settlers tried to kill him multiple times, but failed. One time they instructed his mistress to poison him, but he discovered her plan quickly and gave her a dagger, telling her that if she really wants him dead she should stab him directly. She couldn't kill him and they two ended up having sex on that night instead. Ironically enough he eventually died later in life due to an overdose;
