✱ MEME MONDAY : HONESTY HOUR

in place of your regular meme monday, we're going to be having a good ol' fashioned honesty hour to end september with a bang! instead of it being a literal hour, you will instead have FORTY-EIGHT HOURS starting at 10 AM MST on MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 22ND and ending at 10AM MST on WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 24TH, so that everyone has a chance to participate. what is honesty hour you might ask? this is an opportunity for you to invade each other's inboxes and ask each other's muses whatever you would like to know about them. this can be serious development questions, random in character questions, silly things, true or false, this or that, hot or nots, fmk, etc.— there are no limits to what you can ask ( as long as it's in character and not about muns ) the only stipulation is each muse has to answer honestly. answers should be in character, this can be in paragraph form ( ie. "this is my answer," muse said ) or outright answer ( ie. this is my answer ), whichever you would like to do. the answers to these questions should be considered private unless otherwise plotted out between writers for future interactions. everyone participating should put a LINK to their ASKBOX in the MEME MONDAY CHANNEL in discord. make sure to list the characters participating if you will not be fielding questions for everyone. if a question is not asked on anonymous, it should still be answered as if it was. even though honesty hour ends after forty-eight hours you can continue to answer the questions until your inbox is empty but we do ask that you cease sending anymore questions after that point. if you have any questions, feel free to ask them in the questions channel in discord or send them to the main and most importantly, HAVE FUN!

cilantro: describe the perfect dinner.

"Imagine the most decadent baked potato you can think of. Followed by a steak cooked rare over a fire, left to rest on a block of Sinarian salt. It's seasoned with parsley, rubbed with garlic, onion, and ginger powders. Somewhere into the meal I'm handed a small plate of locally sourced salmon that's fileted to perfection. The bread paired with it are these cheese rolls from this little place in Eterna. Dessert is a custard nobody seems to make outside of Sinaria. And that's the first course."

“Is it too sappy of me to say the baby? I know it’s super early, they’re only the size of a prune and can’t really hear me yet, but god, I don’t think I’ve ever been as happy talking to anyone before. Their daddy’s a close second though.”

                  i like em-dashes too much.

kidding. oh, golly. just one. i’ll try :

i like to run. i tend to procrastinate when i think an article, email, reply, story, et cetera won’t turn out as i’d like it to. it’s an instinct i’ve got going; i kind of... know when it won’t click. ( that’s the virgo in me. i very well damn edit before my words are even on the page. )

writing truly is my refuge but... it can also sometimes serve as a grotesque mirror for myself –– if i feel that line wearing thin, i tend to seclude for a while. not away from the craft entirely, just... into writing of a different form. so where people traditionally get writer’s block, i just pack up and move to a new writing block. ( hehe. seewhatididthere. )

replies not going well ?  let’s work on the personal portfolio site. novel hit a bump ? on to some poetry. my own voice pissing me off ( more likely than you think ! ) ?  time to start a new script, so there’s no space for it. all in all, i think this comes back to running from myself. which isn’t novel; it’s not all that profound. we all do it every day, you know ?  in leaps, in bounds. in stress baking at 2am on a tuesday, in dusting enough cinnamon on lattes to burn our throats. in the little things. and sometimes, rightly, in the big ones.

call it an anti-cliché, because it is : 

i don’t want to see myself in my own work. so whenever that happens in high potency, i dip the heck out of there. just for a bit. until i no longer have that metaphysical aftertaste. and then ? i’m back. all’s gucci. i write. run. repeat. hence the hellishly disorganized docs folder. hence these sometimes infrequent replies of mine.

🍁 –– how do you want to explore your muse further? is there a wishlist ?

i consider myself very lucky with flip –– he tends to write himself ( after asking politely, of course ) . i would love expose an older half-brother connection i’ve got brewing. that would be very interesting, plopping flip into a scenario where he may or may not reveal his identity, thus bringing his familial tally up to 1. he’s survived with 0 for so long. how would he handle that, knowing he’s not as... alone ?  how would he feel, having this stranger ask so many questions about him ( he’s so rarely fielded questions about himself over the years ) ?

going off of that. flip’s come off a terrible year. his bakery burned down. his adoptive brother/guardian and best friend went with it. he’s here in chicago for a new start, but... there’s bound to be circumstances that remind him of home. that rekindle the lingering ashes from that heartache. i’d love to play with that, to get his feet wet in... in having no choice but to communicate his sorrows. flip’s mighty good at staying agreeable, staying quiet. he’s a conversational pushover. having someone see into that and understand why ? and how ? i’m not quite sure he’d know what to do.

and that right there, that excites me.

At the sound of Diana’s name, Willow’s chipper buzz is practically squeezed out of her. “Oh...” Some days she’s better at hiding her feelings than others, but that has never applied to when she’s drunk. “I... we’re friends. I’m glad we’re friends! We used to date, but... it didn’t work out. She didn’t have any feelings for me. At least not – not the same feelings I had for her.” She taps against her glass of pineapple and rum, her mouth twisting. “I was in love with her. I still am. Stupid, right? I should have known...”

Which one cried during a fucking disney movie? in reality, both of them, but hayden would deny it completely.

Who put a goddamned fork in the microwave? hayden 100%. he’d probably be eating with it and forget that it was even on the plate when he put it in the microwave.

Who does the silly hands-over-the-eyes “Guess who” thing? addie but she’s so much shorter than him, sometimes it doesn’t work out 

Who puts their cold hands/feet on their partner? probably both of them tbh. i think addie would do it to genuinely warm up, but hayden would probably do it to annoy her.

Who had that embarassing Reality TV marathon? definitely hayden. he watches the kardashians every sunday.

Who laughs more during sex? hayden just because he’s never serious about anything
