He turned to look at her over his shoulder, bemused by her question. “I see a lot more in myself than you might expect. What do YOU see when you look into your reflection?”
•☾ Her eyes shifted from the blond curls that licked at the collar of his shirt to the mirror on the wall to the left. She saw herself in the glasses reflection, beautiful, pale, alone. There was power there, hidden under the surface but what she saw was fear, uncertainty, hesitation, doubt. For years she had been deceiving herself, keeping what she really was locked away in the back of her mind.
With a jerk she turned her eyes away and caught his blue gaze looking back at hers. “I see many things. Things that I fear, I see hope, I see doubt, I see mistakes, and regret. I see potential but most of all I see a girl, a girl who has been lying to herself for far too long.” •☾
