"Are you going to cry?"
The words were piercing into Blaine’s ears, and another flood of salt water was gathering in her eyes, so she looked away from her friend. “What? Me? Pft no,” she lied, hating that her voice was obviously quivering. She put a hand up, pretending something was in her ey. “I just... I think I got something in my eye. I don’t know,” she mumbled and looked down, running the pad of her index finger over the wet line of her eyelashes. A tear ran down her finger but she quickly dried it off on her skirt. “Can we just... Weren’t we supposed to watch a movie?” Blaine asked and cleared her throat.
"Can't you just be happy for me?"
Gritting her teeth and pursing her lips Blaine snapped her head away. “Well of course I am happy for you,” she lied and continued folding her shirts. Silence filled the room, and with her eyes firmly trained on her clothes and her hands, Blaine wondered if Quinn was just gonna walk out of there. “I want you to be happy, Q. I really do. You know that - I just don’t know why you think you’ll be happy... with him,” Blaine sighed, muttering the last sentence under her breath. “He’s a pig,” she stated, not caring anymore. She was vulnerable, she was hurt - and Quinn honestly expected her to be okay with this after that night. No, she was not gonna play like that.
"My lies aren't working anymore."
It didn’t take anymore than a second for Blaine to drop her magazine on the bed with a loud thump. She got to her knees on the bed and reached out to grab Quinn’s hand. “What happened? Baby, talk to me,” she pleaded as she looked at Quinn’s face, the girl obviously miserable and scared. Gently Blaine pulled Quinn to sit on the bed next to her, as she let a hand up to rub down her girlfriend’s back. “Did they say anything? Have they seen us?” She asked, worry bubbling through her like champagne on the fourth of July. “I don’t care. We’ll work something out,” Blaine said, eyes distant and her brain working at highest speed. Abruptly she leaned in to grab Quinn’s chin and pressed a deep kiss to her mouth. “I’m not letting them take you away from me. No one can take you away from me. I promise.”
"Sometimes I wonder why you stay with me."
It was impossible for Blaine to hold a laugh back. She raised an eyebrow and rolled over on her back where they were lying on the floor doing their homework. Blaine slid her bare foot up Quinn’s naked calf, giggling as her girlfriend twitched. “Are you kidding me?” She asked and grabbed Quinn’s hand. “Because you’re my best friend,” She told and pressed a kiss to the blonde’s wrist. “And because you make me laugh,” she told and kissed a little longer up. “Because you’re smart, and driven.” Another kiss was pressed slightly further up Quinn’s arm. “Because you’re passionate and kind.” Blaine kissed the tip of Quinn’s elbow and sat up. “I am in love with you, and that’s not going to change, so get used to it,” Blaine declared and booped the tip of her index finger to Quinn’s nose.
