She’d never been robbed before and really if they’d just taken her wallet she wouldn’t have cared. It would have sucked but she could cancel her cards and be fine but they’d taken her camera. Her perfect camera that she’d been using since she was fifteen and still used real film. Who in the hell stole a camera? It wasn’t like it was worth a lot of money it was just sentimental to her but of course a thief didn’t care about something like that and now here Iris was having a full blown panic attack while some guy that had come around the corner while she was getting back to her feet tried to calm her down. “No you don’t understand. He took my camera, it was my dads. There’s no worth to it. Why would someone take something when they can’t get anything for it.” She moved slightly to point to where the other man had run off but winced before her hand moved up to lightly touch the raw skin where her neck and shoulder met. It was where the strap had been resting before it was yanked away from her.

Iris took a shaky breath as she pressed closer to Nergal before nodding. Of course he had her, h’d never let something get to her before and she doubted that was going to change. There was also the fact that she knew what he really was so he didn’t have to hide that side of him. Her forehead came to rest against his chest as she slowly started to calm her breathing. “You know how to show up when I need you.”

Iris had just hug up some photos to dry when her phone went off in the other room. She never brought it into the dark room with her because she’d made that mistake in the past. Even a little light could ruin what she was working on if the phone was too close and she didn’t want to go through that tonight. So once she had everything set she headed out of her dark room and picked up her phone only to laugh at the message from Damian. Bringing the phone up to her ear she called him. “You know I didn’t even have to read your message to know you wanted to have sex with me. It’s past midnight, no one texts after midnight unless they’re dying or want to get laid.” But there was laughter in her tone as she walked through her apartment. “I mean you can come over if you want to, I smell like vanilla scented developer so I can’t say it’s gonna be a huge turn on but I’m up.”

Iris couldn’t help but laugh as she finished getting Violet ready to go trick or treating. Really she just wanted to show the little girls costume off and they’d only go to a few houses before going home to hand out candy. Standing up she left the little girl dressed like an owl sitting on the floor before looking at Nolan. “Man your pick-up lines are just as cheesy as they were when we first met. I mean they work but god they’re just so bad.” She laughed before running a hand through her hair. “Are you coming trick or treating?”

"Fuck.” Iris put the test down on the counter as she started to pace back and forth in the bathroom. Really it was lucky that it was shared between her cube mates or anyone could walk in and see her panicking over a positive pregnancy test. She’d only taken it to shut her friend up who kept saying that Iris didn’t have a stomach bug and now here she was, pregnant. “What do I do?” Part of her wanted to shove the test into the trash and act like this wasn’t happening but that wasn’t really a possibility. It wasn’t like pretending it wasn’t happening would change this. She was having a baby... with fucking Christian Washington. They weren’t even dating. She was such a sucker for that stupid fucking smile that she always left places with him if he asked her and now she was pregnant. “Oh god, I’m gonna throw up.” 

“You’re not going to throw up, you’re panicking.” Emery reached out and rubbed her friends back. “Isn’t he coming over? I thought he was bringing soup or something because he thinks you’re sick.”

Iris froze. “Fuck.” She repeated before grabbing the test and throwing it in the trash. “He’s coming over. I couldn’t go out tonight because I’ve been throwing up and he said we could watch a movie. But I’m fucking pregnant.”

“What?”

The brunette spun towards the door with wide eyes as she looked at Tara. “What?”

“Christian’s here. He’s in your room.... I’m gonna act like I didn’t hear anything and just go now.” Tara pointed behind herself with a nod before pulling the door closed.

“Oh god.” Iris put her face in her hands and took a deep breath. “I can do this. I can totally do this. I just wont tell him. It’ll be fine. I should wait until I know for sure. That’s the smart thing to do.” She nodded clearly trying to convince herself despite Emery shaking her head. “I can do this.” Walking out of the bathroom she headed across the little common area and to her room. She smiled at Christian as she pulled the door closed behind her. “Hey.”

He smiled at her before holding up a bag. “I promised soup. How are you feeling?”

“I’m pregnant.” Well so much for not telling him.

Iris hummed to herself as she finished hanging up hew new photos so they could dry after going through the development process. People still gave her crap about using film but she really did enjoy it. Plus when they were pictures for her gallery it wasn’t like she had to do what someone else wanted. It was all about how she wanted things to be. The lights were on in the dark room now that everything had finished up and she let out a laugh when she felt hands on her arms. “Done working?” Turning around to face him she wrapped her arms around Oliver’s shoulders. “I think I got some really good shots, you’ll like them.” Her smile only grew as he started to slowly move and she realized he was dancing to the music she had playing. Wrapping her arms tighter around him she started to move with him as they slow danced. “I like this.” She nodded before shifting so her arms were wrapped around his waist and she let her head rest against his chest.
