After all, working in Providence has been the first thing in his life challenging enough to keep him from thinking about using again...

Accidental affection meme - Accepting

Nick could tell Amelia was happy, or at least close to the feeling. Why else would she be singing in the shower? Even when they had become so close now, the times he had been blessed to witness her voice could be counted on one hand.

Called by her song like a moth to the light, Nick dragged his feet towards the bathroom. He shouldn’t stay, he couldn’t afford to. A few more minutes and he would be late for work, but that hardly mattered when he had a show to enjoy and a kiss to steal the moment she walked out of the shower.

“You should sing more often, you know?” he offered the moment she was done with her song. His voice was as warm as could be and the smile drawn across his features was more than pleased, evidence of just how much he loved the woman.

“Listening to you right now... Man, I fell in love all over again.”

Nick knows Amelia. He knows her far too well. It’s both a mixture of his smarts and the time they’ve spent together, which allows him to read her like a book. He is aware that she resents this ability of his sometimes, so there are times where he pretends he doesn’t know what she’s gonna do or say after a situation just to give her some room to breathe and help her feel like she still has the upper hand on certain things. He loves her that much.
