"The probability is high." Tau snickers at his best friend as he meticulously makes sure every hair on her head was in the perfect spot. The princely man may not have any practice in doing hair, but he was such a perfectionist that Ahri had trusted him with doing her hair for her night out. Too bad Tau was too meticulous and he had already spent almost two hours on her hair only to now be moving his hands at snail fucking speed on her baby hairs. Making sure they were perfectly in place. That every curl flowed together nicely, and most importantly.... he wanted his best friend to feel confident.

She deserved to feel her best and he was more than determined to hype her up this way. "You look incredible, Ahri~"

" here, let me chop the onions, okay? you can dice the peppers and beef; just be sure to do them on separate boards, yeah? "

Ahri really was a great friend. She had saved him from the way his sensitive eyes had started to well up from the onions. Tau was no chef, but he wasn't bad at cooking either. If he had direction or a strict recipe, he could follow it perfectly. With Ahri's instruction he was getting out his cutting boards, the ones where each board is a different color. Each color representing the type of food that would be going on it. With the Red and Green board's in place, the son of Anubis got to dicing, as perfect as he could make them as he felt the need to have them all the same size. "Can I do the paprika part later~?" The bright red splashes of color was Tau's favorite part in any meal that had it, and for some reason it brought him great joy to dash it on the food. He was literally like a kid with his excitement about it.

“Stay there, I’m coming to get you.”

"Thank you, Ahri I will be ready!" Tau had been very excited for their day exploring even though he didn't know when it was happening until this phone call. She was ready and he was.... could be ready quickly. Getting out of his Tuesday Pj's and into a more suitable outfit for exploring he packed his bag. Only the essentials. Meaning first aid, protein bars, a notebook, 5 pens, hairties, bobby pins, you name it, it's probably in the bag. Sitting outside of his apartment he waited, almost vibrating in his spot to go with his best friend wherever they wanted.

Oh thank gods.. Tau was having the hardest time walking after he had ate absolute shit when he attempting to free climb the day before. If not for begging Ahri to have come over and check him out, he would have been convinced he had broke his ankle. Thankfully his friend had defined it as a roll, but wow did it really hurt. "I cannot thank you enough for helping me yet again." Gifting a small heartfelt smile to his best friend. he was genuinely so thankful.

It was hard not to feel like he owed her the world because of how many things she helped him with. "I cannot believe I fell... I rarely fall." Tau pouted his bottom lip out, chocking it up to having been on the island for a while and not been exploring since he had arrived.

“ this is wrong . all of this is wrong . ”

"All of it? Really?" Tau's face scrunched in annoyance, I mean they had just spent hours doing separate parts of a dinner dish they had agreed to make together, and of course his is messed up. "Fuck, I knew I had put too much Turmeric.." Too much of that spice will ruin an entire dish. It's great for you, but it can easily taste like shit when too much is added. Tau rolled his eyes so far back in his head they might get stuck and the nastiest throat sound of annoyance left him. "I guess this is the part where you say I'm helpless and do it for me since I've drudged it up twice now?" His lips parted in the most uncomfortable looking smile, like he was forcing one in a family photo or something. "I told you I am awful at cooking anything with more than five ingredients. Never trust me with more than five." Tau laughed and tasted what he had made, making a nasty face yet again. "Oh god yeah, it is in fact, all wrong."

Tau’s eyes were devious, his smile pulled up on one side in the meanest smirk. “Oh nono, we will for sure call it a hilarious mistake, but I will not move on. Look forward to me holding this against you for the rest of the year. Possibly longer.” Tau‘s hand flew in front of his mouth to hide his smile as he let a soft laugh slip out. His eyes crinkled happily because what had just happened was inevitably one of the funniest things that could have happened all day. Ahri had just been going about their day before the whole incident that had just preceded.
