Three of my Four Winds paintings are still available, as I continue with Day 3 of my Memorial Day Weekend sale. These pieces were painted while I was in a self-directed artist residency in beautiful San Miguel, Mexico. I had rented studio space in the historical Instituto de Allende, and lived in a nearby apartment. The experience was joyful and inspirational: all those wonderful colors, the markets, the food, the warmth of the people! The great, big arched windows in my studio space overlooked the mountains, beyond the sprays of bougainvillea, where the birds of all colours came to feed (especially the hummingbirds). It was Paradise, and these paintings were borne out of that experience. They were painted on loose canvas, which was later glued to wood panel.
