S8E10 Thought. + S8 in general so SPOILERS! also TW : death

I think this season is by far the most confusing one? to me at least. I don't think it's awful, but a lot of execution didn't hit me as much as I thought it would. Still, I think they have a lot of spirit this season.

okay so, what I like about this Finale.

I think this is really one beautiful episode for Beth and Sanchez family. I might have post a lot about Jerry before this episode aired but I'm very very happy they shift focus to beth instead!!! Jerry already have nomortland. don't be greedy jerjer.

I love how Rick's toxic coping mechanism and how he won't actually grief about his loss, come back to bite him by hurting his daughter to the point he almost lost her.

Beth breakdowns as she tries to keep her family together feel very real to me. to be a broken child in broken family and feel like it your 'mission' to bring the family back because at the end of the day, she just wants her parent to be happy. is oof. yeah

I understand memorick's intention, but I also feel like he got off too easy lol geez, that's your real living daughter dude.

I also love space beth's role in this episode! she being the first to notices something wrong with beth so fast since they SHOULD have the same past memory is cool to me.

also the difference between Beth and Space Beth even when she learnt to fight since space beth is trained both body and mind while beth's training was more of a retcon in her mind by memorick. she isn't mentally experienced. so, when she accidentally killed space Beth, I was AMAZED.

like her body just lied there in complete silence. how your effort in saving your family ended up hurting your present family and YOURSELF. its so good. //I glad she was recovered later on cuz that would be haunting.

Poor beth tho. her mind almost breaks by her memory father, yet i think she can't bring herself to hate him since see how much he love her mom. (But that almost make her kills space beth sooo) I hope she know she's loved... (jerjer comfort her here make me emotional. he sucks at comforting but he wants to be there for her :(((((( )

(tho i agree with rick here WHY ARE YOU PEOPLE SAD AND MORTY WHY ARE YOU CALLING HIM A GOOD VERSION OF RICK. HE GASLIT YOUR MOM. i guess the bar is that low)

but, in the end. we see how much rick change. since after all of that shit, he still gave memorick a happy end. or maybe. part of him hope there's a version of him that get a happy end with Diane...)

now.....

part that I don't like.

I'm sadden by the fact that once again, Diane is brought back as an angst tool for Rick or Beth or even morty. And this time it seems like this is the last time they going to bring her up. cuz if they do it more after this. This episode would feel pointless.

Not that I don't like the theme of this episode being. Focus on your present family not the past.

And I guess it's fair their memories of her become blurry because of the omega device.

but holy shit can this woman be a person? We are always shown how her presence affects others but what about how others presence affects her?

I really wish we get to know her. her without being filtered by her family. it's a shame really. I just don't really like when the show pulls a sad face and told the audience 'We should just move on ☹' when most of the time those elements are barely explored lol

Also, I notice but this season is closing all the plot we have so far?

which is a bold move. I wonder they did this because they have smth in their mind for S9 or they just want to do more episodic S9, and if it's the later then i think it's very very bold of them cuz,,,, their episodic wasn't that funny lately... (but, feel free to prove me wrong RnM)

also there a prime bit that bother me but that's for another post

Anyway,,,, I did somewhat enjoy this season. a lot of love for Beth and an amazing jerry episode. it did feel weird morty wasn't involved more this season. maybe next season?

I make jokes about it but honestly I feel like as memory Rick runs deeper into Jerry's memories, he's gonna see things.

He gonna see Jerry marry his potentially daughter. He's gonna see Jerry raise his potentially grandkids. He gonna see them fight as Beth brings up her absence father. He gonna see smith's life through Jerry's point of view.

And I feel like at some point. It would get to him. Maybe by accident at first. Maybe he feels upset by Jerry's stupidity. Maybe it's his ego due to how the family viewed rick and felt like 'im not like that guy! I won't be like that guy!' and when he realized it he already spent 10 years with the memory smith.

So, I really look forward to how they handle this. It could change the family dynamic?

If it was sincere and Rick can't deny it. Jerry will know. But if it wasn't and Rick just dig down into it. Then that's just violating Jerry's privacy lol
