It accompanies my new fan fiction, Orbiting a Memory: a dreamy, eldritch tale full of visions, magic, and dancing! In the year 1634, Agnes Nutter and Galileo are each influencing - or preparing to influence - the world in their own ways. But where are Agnes' prophecies coming from? Saraqael, full of loneliness and longing and serving as both muse and puppet master, knows the answer to that.

Have you ever wondered what would have happened if one small, important conversation had changed the course of everything between Aziraphale and Crowley? On a magical night that no one will remember, Saraqael shares some secrets, spreads some hope, and inadvertently makes sure that's exactly what happens.

Thinking about two childhood friends growing up and A has a huge crush on B but never says anything about it, and then one day B needs to disappear for their safety, so A erases everyone’s minds, including their own despite B being the only bright spot in their life

And then one day, years down the line, A regains their memory of their childhood with B, and it’s an even bigger shock because they currently know B, as they’re A’s significant other

Idk just thoughts of A regaining their memory and their inner child being so fucking ecstatic to realize they got with their crush

(Was originally thinking about it from B’s pov, living life in a world where no one knows who they are anymore but they’re safe, unfortunately they still really miss their best friend, so they track them down, just to see them again, and are taken by surprise when A starts heavily flirting with them

And then after awhile of being together, A gets their memory back and is staring at B with shock all over their face, and B is mentally like “…did I handle this correctly?” cause they never told A about knowing them in the past because how would you have that convo?? What if they just sounded like a stalker??)

OK OK BUt if/when sora remembers riku’s sacrifice finally i just really really wonder wtf could happen like

throughout like the whole series, sora (imo) has not yet recovered his true memories. yeah he recovered his correct memories during his year of sleep after CoM but the True memories the game hinted/implied the existence of—truly important memories sora lost or forgot long ago—He hasn’t recovered those yet. He doesn’t remember.

and so now, after kh3, he’s lost even more important memories, and this time we (mostly?) know what memories he seems to have lost.

such as, yknow, riku fuckin /dying/.

so. like. i just like to imagine that this shit has been in the Queue for like. a long fuckin time. so. will sora /finally/ fuckin remember?? im just. antsy. 👁👁

esp since ive been playing through CoM and the implications that True Memory Recovery can create a huge fuckin upset within the heart has me LOOKING 👀

imagine while we play as riku, we get segments of sora dreaming in his stasis, and that’s how we witness his self reflection? like he dreams of a person he can’t put a face to, can’t put a name to, but he feels is important?? someone he reaches for but can’t quite reach?

cause i keep thinking about sora dreaming himself in like, fairytale stories, with him and riku in the place of the prince and princess, and i’m just—

or even like a CoM mechanic, where maybe we don’t make rooms and fight enemies the same way, but we do go through memory worlds (or just, sora’s memories in general) in order to self reflect.

cause i was like, IMAGINE we got a repeat of the destiny islands scene mY lord. imagine. imagine we got a flashback of naminé in CoM, with an accurate translation this time lmao it’d be richhhh

and of course, as is always the case when i bring up forgotten memories—necklace theory. i NEED to see the night of the meteor shower with my own EYEBALLS PLS

basically if we got rikus side of the story as gameplay (in part restoring pieces of sora’s heart which HOLD said forgotten memories), and sora’s side as traversing the forgotten memories as riku restores them, i’d riot

Shared Memory Shenanigans

So, we share memories, cus if we didn't our lives would be more of an unremitting nightmare than it already is, but on occasion it can make things kinda weird.

Like for instance, today I saw a few people I know we knew, because i recognized their faces, and of course i go say hi since i don't wont us to seem like a rude asshole. But i never actually interacted with these people, I just have my 'mates memories to go off of. we've worked with two of them and lived with another one.

So of course i go up, say hi, they *hug* me, and then they launched into a discussion of how the thing we worked on was going, mentioned us getting back involved. And i'm like, yeah sure, but it was weird being interacted with as if i was someone else. I always end up wondering if they can tell the difference, which is kinda freaky. The way that they responded to us was vastly  different than what i'm used to getting, b/c the person they knew/know was really different from me.

Then i end up talking with the chick i used to live with, which was also odd. She mentioned one of the ex's of one of my 'mates, asked if i had talked to them since they were also in the space, and it took me a minute to figure out who she was talking about. And thinking about it now, i realize why she asked, since the 'mate that was dating that person was *always* with them, so it was totally logical to ask about it. But i only know that person through the weird-ass osmosis memory thing going on in here.

whatever. i'm rambling.
