Mental Genius Ibiza launch party
Following the booming London launch of record label Mental Genius back in March, the label is set to have an opening party in Ibiza next week with an “absolute monster line up”.
The opening is due to take place on the 29th May in the renowned club Sankeys which lies right in the heart of Ibiza’s nightlife on Playa D’en Bossa. It is known for its focus on underground house and electronic music and it is also where the likes of Audiofly, Duke Dumont and many more resident.
House DJ and founder of Mental Genius Recordings, Dave Lubin stated “we are very excited to announce that Flashmob will be headlining the Mental Genius opening fiesta”. Flashmob are used to performing sets around Europe since their hit “Need in me” reached over 3 million views on YouTube. Alongside the prominent headline act will be performances from the original Mental Genius himself Dave Lubin, Tom Crane, Clara Da Costa and Andy Baxter to name a few.
The fiesta will be a part of the Emerging Ibiza festival which involves showcasing new talent on the island, where Lubin has been chosen as an industry expert. He has picked three artists to be showcased over this five day festival who are all due to release on Mental Genius Recordings; Tom Crane, Quintin Christian and This Is A Recording. “We have some very exciting projects in the pipeline for these guys so as you can see, our collaboration with Emerging Ibiza came along at the perfect time” adds Lubin.
He has recently returned to Ibiza after DJing in Dubai and London for a taste the mental summer ahead, therefore the geniuses are amped and ready to go for the opening party next week.
The party is not only introducing the main aspect of Mental Genius being a house label, it is also representing the fact that it is a lifestyle brand that combines music, fashion and art. Their aim is to engage people with “embracing their inner genius” and appeal to those who have a “positive outlook on life and celebrate creativity”. The brand will also be launching its very first luxury street wear collection in the summer.
