she hears it in passing, a nymph whispering to another about how minthe has returned but she doesn’t believe it, can’t believe that after all this time her mother has somehow returned from the dead. it would hurt too much when she found out the nymphs were wrong but this doesn’t stop her from looking, casually making her way down to the underworld - which isn’t all that hard which must have something to do with their ruler being her father.

she doesn’t like the feel of the underworld, knowing she’s close to where minthe was murdered but she keeps stumbling through until she spots her.

she runs up to the brunette woman, coming to a halt a few steps away. “ mom? ”

traveling to the underworld is NO easy task, and for most an even more impossible one, but ianthe is not most. she’s wanted to meet her father since the first moment her mother spoke of him, and finally she had found the courage to do it. as she trekked the treacherous path, the nymph could not help but feel that it was hades’ blood running through her veins that guided her. until, up ahead, a FIGURE she remembers so dearly, has made herself conjure every night so as never to forget it, comes into view and she stops in her tracks. “ mommy? ” ianthe breathes, too much hope in her chest. without a thought she bolts toward the woman, meeting her in a tight embrace as happy tears burst free. “ mommy ! please tell me it’s you. even if you’re a ghost or a dream or a vision, please be you! ”
