❝blaine?! blaine what are you TALKING about?!’ sebastian’s lips parted as he pressed the cellphone to his ear, eyebrows furrowed. blaine hadn’t talked to him, live, in a long, long time. they traded texts here and there, but this was the first time sebastian heard his voice in months, and even so, he was pretty sure he’d never heard it quite this… terrified.
‘blaine? what is going on? do i need to—’ he interrupted himself as blaine talked, loose words bouncing in his brain as he grew numb. school…. trapped…. shooting. his voice missed him for a second. the only answer in his brain, a desperate, begging, NO. because this couldn’t be happening. not to blaine. not now. not ever. not to someone he—
‘STOP IT.’ he demanded, his voice barely coming out, a throat whisper, before it grew in anxiousness. ‘don’t you dare. i’m. i’m coming over.’ he was sure he wouldn’t be able to enter, but he’d be waiting for blaine outside. he couldn’t. he COULDN’T just… ‘i don’t wanna hear it.’ maybe he’d find a way to get in. but what if doing that only risked blaine MORE? by drawing attention to where he was? sebastian swallowed, thickly and could feel more than air lacking him as he struggled, his hand shaking softly even as it held his phone almost at the point of shattering it. ‘you’re…. you’re everything.’ he cut himself, trailing off because he couldn’t bear to finish it. ‘blaine. don’t. please. please don’t hang up.’ he begged him, as he had already jumped to his feet and was grabbing his shoes and car keys, heading for the door. ‘i’m gonna be THERE. i’m gonna WAIT for you. you come and MEET ME, okay? you DO that.’ he begged him, as his hands’ trembling increased, while he stumbled his way downstairs. his heart beating against his temples. he had to get there.
