talking kind of sucks sometimes. she doesn’t like talking all that much about her feelings and stuff like that. feelings are the worst. she lets out a little breath and watches him with a furrow of her brows. she doesn’t super want to talk about her feelings because she doesn’t feel like it right now. “can you sit a little closer to me?”

well, now, she certainly can’t refuse that kind of offer, can she? no. that seems like one of the best offers in the world. go back to bed with the love of her life, with her husband. she’s more than happy to give in to that request and she moves back towards the bed, snuggling herself up against his side. she curls her arm over his waist, moving her face to snuggle against his shoulder. “how’s that?”

the words kind of take her off guard, they take her by surprise because she wasn’t expecting to hear something like that come out of his mouth. although she’s not sure why because that’s something he says often but it comes out of absolutely nowhere. she has no idea what seemed to have prompted something like that but she can’t complain, at all. the words do make her feel warm and soft and she’s grateful for the words but she has no idea what prompted it. “what for this time?”

      it’s a tired argument even before he starts it. the insistence that she can and should ask for assistance is ongoing- and in her opinion, wearing a little thin. dark eyes flicker to him, flashing danger and warning signs all around as her tongue caresses her teeth and her jaw clicks firmly into place. her tone is placid, even cajoling- a riptide. “ and what is it i need help with? ” she asks, instead of getting angry or blowing up at him. she might as well hand him the shovel to dig his own grave first.

the    pirate    isn’t    sure    of    what    he    heard    at    first,    but    it    settles    in    eventually.    oh.    gil    puts    his    bottle    down    on    the    nearest    surface    that    he    could    find    and    stumbles    over    to    where    his    husband    is.    squeezing    harry’s    face    in    between    his    hand,    making    the    other    pirate’s    lips    pouty    as    a    result,    gil    takes    a    deep    breath.    “    no.    I    don’t.    you’re,    and    uma,    and    del,    are    the    best    thing    that    happened    to    me    in    my    entire    life.    I    love    you,    bro.    ”

“i know you would but i don’t want you to do that because the world that we live in, as shitty as it is, is ours for the taking. we can do whatever the hell we want, whenever we want. we can do anything and everything, so maybe we don’t set it on fire.” she knows it’s pretty hypothetical, that he wouldn’t actually - although maybe he would. it all depends, doesn’t it? but under the assumption that he’s being serious, she doesn’t want him to burn the world down.

“i know. i feel it too.” and it never really goes away. the feeling never really goes away. it stays within you. the anger never leaves you and it’s an upsetting feeling. it’s the worst kind of feeling. she doesn’t want to be angry all the time, she doesn’t want to feel angry all the time but she knows that it’ll never go away. she knows that it’ll never go away and she hopes that he knows that, that he’ll grow to understand accept that. even embrace it. because there’s no changing it. no amount of therapy or anger management lessons. “it never goes away.”

they’ve been laying in bed for what feels like forever, though in reality it’s only been a couple of minutes. she’s not been awake too long but with harry, it doesn’t feel like that long. her fingertips gently trace over the length of his chest and she smiles up at him, at how soft and settled he seems. she loves watching the aches and pains wash away when he sleeps but he’s starting to wake now and she loves seeing that, too. just as much, if not more. she shimmies closer, arm over his waist as she presses a very light kiss to his neck, where her face had been buried before. “morning.”
