So, if Mephiles is in Sonic Runners as a playable character, who's usage is capable of advancing the plot... and he's essentially rescuing animals and stopping Dr. Eggman... does that mean he's totally rehabilitated now and is no longer a viable threat..? Like, he's saving critters and stopping the bad guy, so is he good now..? Are all my AUs where he's now part of the crew and has turned over a new leaf actually canon now??? Did I accurately predict this???

OMG Sonic Runners has characters won from the Roulette hatch out of eggs To get Mephiles, he's going to hatch out of an egg. Are you a chicken, Mephiles??? Are you??? You're coming from an egg, aren't you?? It has come full circle and I love this.

One of the best cameos for anyone, I think. Mephiles is just clinging to that bar. He is holding onto it for dear life. He is locked around that thing. He's not moving from there. He even has his legs crossed, and is pressed into that bar as much as possible. He wants no part of these shinanagans. This just gets funnier the more I look at it. Was it ever confirmed that he managed to escape during the massive break out, or did he just figure they'd all get caught anyway and just waited his turn?

Now, I've suspected this for a good long while, but anyway: Can we talk a moment about how the main method of attacking Iblis during Phase 2 is to get these orbs to glow, so he gets distracted enough to excitedly slam face first into it like a cat playing with a laser light? Ever wondered why? It's not because Iblis is just a big dumb lava beast, y'know? It's because he thought that was probably Mephiles. Why would I say that? In the game, it's well established that during the actual playable part that all things purples are basically under Mephiles' influence. The purple monsters that fire those beams of energy, the purple glowing crystals and growths in the shadows, the defunct orbs in the totally dark areas that glow when you hit them... And Mephiles' abilities all have a purplish hue to them. Even during some times, Mephiles is given a purple tint, and the Emerald he's most associated with is the purple one, as it's the one he uses to trick Silver with, as well as the one he uses to take out Sonic, and to initiate the "final curtain call". Now, assuming the orbs give off the same energy as Mephiles while using his abilities, what's to say that Iblis didn't confuse the orb energy for Mephiles? What's to say that he, being the least brightest of the two, merely thought Mephiles was here to help him fight off these intruders in his lair (monster he may be, but you still intruded on his safe zone, then tried to murder him). Iblis thought his twin/brother/other-half was here to help out, and you kicked him in the face. You monster. :P

This was why Shadow was so determined to stop Mephiles.

You are now aware that this year marks an important year in the Sonic franchise

I’m talking, of course, of this being the 10th year since Sonic 06 was released.

This game is going to be a decade old this year. 

Ain’t that a bit of a mind blower for ya?

I’m really looking forward to the possible celebration Sega will give us in Sonic Runners where Mephiles can finally be a playable and we get to do whatever we want with him.

I can’t wait to see if he can actually SpinDash due to his Hedgehog shape, or if he actually can’t and has to do his infamous “Ballerina Twirl”.

Sonic 06 is an important game to the franchise, even if it can be argued that it should have never happened. It’s still canon, despite reconning itself before the final credits could come up. :P

I interrupt my play of Undertale for this sudden epiphany

Dudes... I legit think Mephiles is left handed. Like, I kinda guessed that before (Dark, being derived from Mephiles the Dark, is a lefty as well), but it just occurred to me that he uses his left hand more than his right hand.

Just as reference, here’s are the few times he goes righty:

The times where it’s hard to judge is when he uses both at the same time for an attack or when gesturing with both, which, in that case, he’s ambidextrous while favoring his left.

Interesting, because Shadow also appears to be left handed as well...

Mephiles sure was lucky that Elise had a crush on Sonic. Can you imagine how much of his plan could have been thrown out of whack if she didn't? Do you understand that his entire plan in that game hinged on Elise having the hots for a blue hedgehog that was two years her junior? Do you know that Sonic was nothing more than a plot device in his own self titled game? Do you realize that this entire game was just "Shadow the Hedgehog 2: Electric Boogaloo (with some kid named Silver)"? This entire game was probably just fanfiction that Mephiles probably wrote himself to make himself seem cooler, and if that's a good theory, that just explains too much!
