Moonlight Sunrise (Baby, come be my starlight) Part 2
Well this turned into a one shot collection faster than anticipated. This one is mostly focused on Mercy and Rembrandt, enjoy!

It was ten in the morning, the day had barely begun for Rembrandt and Mercy who were left alone in their shared apartment. Swan had an early meeting with Cleon and the Riffs while Ajax was at Cochise’s to have her braids redone.
Rembrandt was sitting comfortably on the couch, her eyes glued to the tv as her fingers played with Mercy’s hair. The taller girl was sitting in front of her girlfriend, not paying any attention to the moving images in front of her.
“I’m bored.” Mercy declared in a whinny tone.
Rembrandt ignored Mercy as best as she could, focusing on the cartoon she was watching. That was until Mercy dipped her head back on the tagger’s lap, face up, looking up at her like a sad puppy.
“Babyy, I’m so bored out of my mind. I might die.”
Rembrandt didn’t even glance at her, knowing she would have a hard time saying no to her girlfriend’s stupid pouting face. “Too bad, it was fun knowing you.”
Mercy pouted even harder. “Just say you hate me.”
Rembrandt took a deep breath in and out, finally looking back at Mercy “You’re so dramatic”. Just a few weeks ago, Mercy’s attitude would have annoyed the tagger, but with time she just found it endearing.
Mercy beamed at Rembrandt, happy to finally have some attention. “Let's do something.”
“I am doing something. I’m watching my show.” Rembrandt glanced at the new scene on the tv, realising she had no clue what happened in the last few minutes of the program. “Well trying.”
Mercy rolled her eyes “I meant something fun!”
“Is my show boring to you?” Rembrandt asked genuinely. She knew Mercy didn’t necessarily like watching the same things as her, but she was curious to know how boring it was to her.
“Very” Mercy answered way too fast.
Rembrandt couldn’t help but giggle at Mercy’s brutal honesty. “Let me finish this and we can do what you want. Deal?” Proposed Rembrandt.
“Deal!” Mercy squealed with joy. She kissed her girlfriend as a thank you.
“But you have to be quiet until it’s over,” Rembrandt quickly added. Mercy gave her a thumbs up and locked her mouth with an invisible key. Satisfied, Rembrandt went back to her activity, just for it to have turned into advertisement, making her groan as Mercy suppressed a laugh.
Twenty minutes later, the end credits were playing and Mercy was already up and ready to go.
“So, what d’you wanna do?” Rembrandt asked after she turned off the tv and put on one of Ajax’s Jimi Hendrix hoodies.
Mercy had a big smile plastered on her face. “We’re going shopping!” She excitedly announced as she pulled Rembrandt by the hand toward the door. Rembrandt followed without any push back, stopping just enough to put on her boots.
“We’re broke.” Rembrandt stated.
“That’s where you’re wrong baby.” Mercy corrected as she triumphantly took out wads of cash from her jacket. “Guess you have been giving free drinks to a rich gentleman at the bar lately. Apparently he really likes me.” She continued venting her face with the money in a dramatic way.
Rembrandt bursted out laughing at Mercy’s antics. “Ajax would kill him if she knew.” She managed to say between two laughs.
Mercy shrugged playfully. “Or she would be proud of me for using my charms. Not like I’m doing anything wrong, I’m just being nice.”
“And wearing the deep neckline shirt that makes Swan and Ajax go crazy to work?” Rembrandt raised an eyebrow, amused.
“See? You know exactly what I’m doing.” Mercy smiled before opening the door and offering her arm to Rembrandt. “Shall we?”
Rembrandt smiled back at her and wrapped her arm around Mercy’s. “We shall.”
After Mercy had brought two dresses for herself, a new pair of cargo pants and a few cans of paint for Rembrandt, clean shirts and socks for Ajax and a leather jacket for Swan, she saw how tired Rembrandt started to get. Indeed, the tagger seemed happy but also totally done with shopping. Her belly empty and crying for food didn’t help.
Mercy took pity on her and pointed to the grocery store on their way. “Last stop then we go home. Sounds good?”
Rembrandt nodded “Only if you buy me some ice cream and those gummy worms that Swan keep stealing me”
“Anything you want, baby.” Mercy accepted without a second thought as they made their way there.
By the time they got back, Ajax was already planning dinner. When she saw them enter, arms full of grocery bags, her eyes widened. “Yo, did you rob a grocery store?” She asked as she approached them to help.
Mercy pecked the enforcer’s lips as she unload some of her purchases on her, but Rembrandt answered before she could “Nah, Mercy’s just impossible to say no to.” Both Rembrandt and Mercy giggled as they placed their bags on the table, leaving a very confused Ajax to catch up to them.
“You looking good by the way Guapo. Cochise did a really good job” Rembrandt complimented when Ajax was closer.
“Hell yeah she did! But it’s also hard to mess up perfection, ya’know.” Ajax acknowledged while posing and flexing for her girlfriends once her arms were free, making them giggle harder.
“So strong and handsome, baby” Mercy praised amusedly while Rembrandt and her started spreading the bag’s contents on the table.
“Mighty mighty Ajax.” Rembrandt enriched teasingly as Ajax looked even cockier than usual.
Her ego sated, Ajax finally helped them to take everything out of the bags. Once they were done, the three of them looked at their prize possession.
“We have enough food for like a year.” Ajax said incredulously.
Rembrandt looked at her, an idea forming in her head. “Wanna invite Cochise and Cowgirl over as a thank you?”
‘Hell yea.” Ajax answered almost already knocking at their door to invite them to dinner. Not long after, Fox was also called over.
That night, Swan came home with Cleon to a place full of her chosen family happily sharing a meal she had no clue how they could afford.
