A young Cheshire wanders the Enchanted Forest scenting the area trying to find a place to rest for the night.Â
âNone of these treeâs interest me.â
she mumbles kicking a dead branch out of her way, sharply she looks up smelling a strange scent.
âWhat- who is that coming from?â
she moves west heading towards the smell, her ears and tail twitch in anxiousness. Blood suddenly mixes with the scent and she rushes with a fury unknown to her. She breaks though a treeline to see a young man- around 22 lying on the ground blood pooling from his head.
her traitorous mouth says. She crouches to his level assessing his injury.
âHeâs pale- hes losing too much bloodâ
muttering to her self and without thinking she lays her palm on the wound, a green light glows from her skin as the blood burns off him. Taking her hand off his head to find the wound healed with a small pink scar just below his hairline. He groans in pain and opens his eyes slowly.
The question comes from his mouth groggily as he tries to sit up, giving a hand she steadies him.
âWould you be careful-â she scowlsâI just saved you from bleeding to death.â She finishes with a huff.Â
He turns to face her as if forgetting that she was there.
âI apologize, thank you for saving my life. May I ask who you are?â
Without warning her hand thrusts into his chest and withdraws, taking his heart with it. He gasps in pain as she holds it out in front of her, a feeling of warmth in the back of her mind stops her in horror.
âThe makings of a bond-â she thinks âImpossible.â
The man to whom the heart belongs to watches her in fear than looks at his heart, she also looks at it. One part fascination, one part disgust mulling over her options.
All she had to do was crush the heart that laid in her open palm. However one glance to his face and she knew she couldnât- wouldnât take his life, but she could protect it. Protect him.Â
Placing the heart back in his chest she breathes as the bond washes over her.
âI am Cheshire. And you are?â
She answers trying not to give away the euphoric feeling of the bond in her words. He answers her in awe.
âJefferson. Jefferson Hatter.â
