Ok bear with this description for a bit…these guys have a Heartbreakers / old Soul Asylum groove, with a smooth/rocking Bon Jovi vocal. It is that form of punk that would just as easily be classified as Rock ‘N' Roll, but it seems to jump out of the genre enough to be considered a crossover album. It is rocking there is no doubt about that. The album flows nicely. Get-Punk did it again, they sent me an album from a band I didn’t know and it was a good listen.

A little while back, Spotify recommended I listen to the group Mercy Union, as their single “Totem” had just dropped, along with a cover of Strike Anywhere‘s “Infared”. I took a chance and spun the track, and was hit instantly. The huge guitar riffs, the soul punk vocals, the thundering drums, all building up to a melodically infectious chorus that shines with a touch of the 80’s AOR sound.
