mercedes jordan ● lawful evil
“every villain is a hero in his own mind” is a statement that perfectly sums up mercedes. she’s a hard broiled warrior queen with every reason in the world to be this way, but she doesn’t seem all that interested in evolving very much from the cards she’d been dealt. she instead uses all that pain as a driving force and justification for the things she does. she is a fairy and being one is hard enough. her mother became a vampire when she was very young, young enough to leave no lasting memories in mercy’s mind. mercy was also fairly young when her mother irina came back into her life, give into her nature and took a snack off of young mercy bad enough to kill her. the event left a powerful impact on mercedes, as it left her father in a heartbreaking decision that would later see him trading his life for mercedes. she grew up in a one parent household, growing exceptionally close to a father that she adores to the moon and back. he taught her the golden rules to how to protect herself, which mercedes later adopted as code for the vampire hunting she’d later become infamous for. if fairies are children of the sun, then mercy’s own personal rainclouds follows her as diligently as the sun rays. she’s loss more than anyone should be allowed to, using the pain from that loss to motivate her systematic killing of vampires as justification. the world, as well as her species, would be better without them. mercy is a mother now in her own right, who’ll never do to her children what her mother had done to her. but as everyone knows the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.
