MERCY NOTES ™: Poverty Is Not Divine, Nor Is It Humble
3 John 2 (KJV)
Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
MERCY writes:
Poverty is a curse. Poverty is not of God. There is nothing divine or sacred about poverty.
Never accept the false idea that poverty suggests humility.
Being poor has nothing to do with being humble. There are many poor people who are proud & arrogant even though they do not have money. Money is not the only thing in the world that someone can be proud about. The world is not lacking in an abundant supply of people who have little or no money but because of their race or their bloodline they are in a higher social class than others, and they treat others in any class below them with unbridled arrogance even though those people may have more money than them in some cases.
The lack of money would not bring humility, nor is it a guarantee for the presence of humility.
Poverty is also not divine.
In the Catholic church, priests & nuns take a Vow Of Poverty.
Skipping the part about how certain key doctrines of the Catholic church miss Christianity completely, I would like to talk about this Vow Of Poverty thing.
Poverty is not divine.
Poverty is of the devil.
Taking an oath to remain poor is a sin against God & a crime against humanity.
It's a sin against God because by planning to stay poor you are setting yourself to fight against the will of God for your life. It's God's will for you to be rich. Taking an oath to be poor is not just rebellion but fighting against God. You have actually taking it upon yourself to go to war with God and fight with all your might against his will.
How sad is that.
Also, it's a sin against humanity because poverty is unproductivity.
What! You didn't know that?
Poverty is the ultimate synonym for Unproductivity, and vise versa.
You are sinning against humanity because you have taken the decision to be a liability to the rest of humanity. You have made a decision to be unproductive - to be poor. To not contribute anything to this world. Yet survive of the contributions of others and have the nerve to think that what you are doing is divine or humble.
You have been fooled. Stop being fooled. Stop thinking that poverty is divine. Stop thinking that poverty is humble.
Poverty is Poverty.
