MERCY NOTES ™: Poverty Is Not Divine, Nor Is It Humble
3 John 2 (KJV)
Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
MERCY writes:
Poverty is a curse. Poverty is not of God. There is nothing divine or sacred about poverty.
Never accept the false idea that poverty suggests humility.
Being poor has nothing to do with being humble. There are many poor people who are proud & arrogant even though they do not have money. Money is not the only thing in the world that someone can be proud about. The world is not lacking in an abundant supply of people who have little or no money but because of their race or their bloodline they are in a higher social class than others, and they treat others in any class below them with unbridled arrogance even though those people may have more money than them in some cases.
The lack of money would not bring humility, nor is it a guarantee for the presence of humility.
Poverty is also not divine.
In the Catholic church, priests & nuns take a Vow Of Poverty.
Skipping the part about how certain key doctrines of the Catholic church miss Christianity completely, I would like to talk about this Vow Of Poverty thing.
Poverty is not divine.
Poverty is of the devil.
Taking an oath to remain poor is a sin against God & a crime against humanity.
It's a sin against God because by planning to stay poor you are setting yourself to fight against the will of God for your life. It's God's will for you to be rich. Taking an oath to be poor is not just rebellion but fighting against God. You have actually taking it upon yourself to go to war with God and fight with all your might against his will.
How sad is that.
Also, it's a sin against humanity because poverty is unproductivity.
What! You didn't know that?
Poverty is the ultimate synonym for Unproductivity, and vise versa.
You are sinning against humanity because you have taken the decision to be a liability to the rest of humanity. You have made a decision to be unproductive - to be poor. To not contribute anything to this world. Yet survive of the contributions of others and have the nerve to think that what you are doing is divine or humble.
You have been fooled. Stop being fooled. Stop thinking that poverty is divine. Stop thinking that poverty is humble.
Poverty is Poverty.

MERCY NOTES ™: Family Is Not Always Blood Related
2 Kings 7: 9 (NIV)
Then they said to each other, “What we’re doing is not right. This is a day of good news and we are keeping it to ourselves. If we wait until daylight, punishment will overtake us. Let’s go at once and report this to the royal palace.”
MERCY writes:
There was a Syrian siege of Samaria, which resulted to so great a famine in Israel. They ate asses; unclean animals. Even human beings; cannibalism. The ungodly king blamed the man of God (Prophet Elisha) for the problems.
The king planned to take Elisha’s life. God revealed this to him. Elisha had to tell the elders to hold the messenger who came to execute him at the door. He then gave a prediction of an abundance of food by the same time on the following day. God brought this to pass by using the four lepers.
As a child of God, your helper must not necessarily be your family member or blood relation.
God created all and can use all persons or things to accomplish his plan and purpose.
In this instance, he used the four lepers who were thrown out of Samaria because they were leprous. However, these are the same ones who said:
2 Kings 7:9 (NIV)
Then they said to each other, “What we’re doing is not right. This is a day of good news and we are keeping it to ourselves. If we wait until daylight, punishment will overtake us. Let’s go at once and report this to the royal palace.”
They felt they had a profound message of deliverance to share with the very (Samarians) that cast them out. Though they were consumed with satisfying their own lust, as they met the Syrian camp deserted.
These lepers realized they could send the message to the same Samarians who were hit by a serious famine. So the Samarians went out and spoiled the tents of the Syrians. The prophesy of Elisha was fulfilled that food was again sold for the normal price. God is a loving father. He loves his children but hates their sins. God had taken Israel to the depths of a famine in order to producer repentance and trust in him for deliverance. He will deliver and restore you when repent of your sins no matter how great.
Jesus loves you.

MERCY NOTES ™: Jesus Loves Caring For Ageing Parents
John 19: 26-27
When Jesus saw his mother standing beside me, his close friend, he said to her, "He is your son." And to me he said, "She is your mother!" And from then on I took her to my home.
MERCY writes:
This was a priority to Jesus. Even as he was dying on the cross he was concerned about his mother's welfare. He entrusted her into the care of John his friend & disciple. He did not give the job to just anybody. Jesus knew he could count on John.
God himself felt concern for parents.
Exodus 20:12 AMP
Regard (treat with honor, due obedience, and courtesy) your father and mother, that your days may be long in the land the Lord your God gives you.
This is the first of the 10 commandments that ends with a promise.
Ephesians 6:2 (AMP)
Honor (esteem and value as precious) your father and your mother--this is the first commandment with a promise--
The widespread disrespect shown toward parents today leads to deep emotional scars both in parents and children.
God is not pleased and there should be restitution by God's own children in Christ Jesus.
Ephesians 6:3 (AMP)
That all may be well with you and that you may live long on the earth.
Children who honor parents will be blessed on earth and in eternity.
Parents take care of children and eventually the roles reverse. Jesus as a children obeyed his mother cared for her as an adult and as a dying man arranged for her welfare.
As you do this, your blessings cannot elude you.

MERCY NOTES ™: The Promise Keeper
1 Thessalonians 5:24
"God who called you to become his child will do all this for you just as he promised."
MERCY writes:
When people turn their lives to God they should be highly commended. Their new lives of faith may be opposed by friends and relatives despite the positive changes God has made in their lives. They should not slip back (or backside) into old patterns, no matter how harassed or teased by unbelievers to get.
When one meets with opposition, he should be encouraged by the progress already made. God's power is at work within us. We do not have to quit because of opposition. Faithful is he that calleth you. He would also raise you up & keep all his promises.

MERCY NOTES ™: Let Your Lifestyle Advertise Jesus
Deuteronomy 4:6 (AMP)
So keep them and do them, for that is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the peoples who, when they hear all these statutes, will say, Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.
MERCY writes:
Get wisdom, get understanding.
Wisdom is to obey God.
Israel was to be a testimony to all nations in revealing the contrast between worshipping Jehovah and worshipping Idols.
Other nations were to observe their behaviour and conclude that their existence and laws were not ordinary but from one beyond the imagination & will of man.
Like Israel, new testament believers are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, and God's own possession - a people who God wants to proclaim his excellence and Lordship.
Israel physically, mentally, spiritually, militarily, materially, government - wise, and in every phase of human success was far above other nations.
Today, God expects the same level of obedience from New testament believers.
Advertise Jesus in your lifestyle so that unbelievers will see and conclude that our Jehovah is the best and wisest to follow. The benefits are outstanding.
Live a lifestyle of obedience to God.
Let your lifestyle make people give glory to God.

MERCY NOTES ™: The Righteous Judge
Psalm 7:11 (KJV)
God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day.
MERCY writes:
Our God is a righteous judge. There is no change in God's attitude towards sin. It is an attribute of God that is as unchanging as his own being & nature. It is not a sudden emotion that breaks forth in wrath and then changes and passes away. He continually abhors wickedness.
Being the perfect judge that he is; he cannot justly pour out blessings on the righteous & not bring judgement on the wicked.
However, because of the blood of Jesus (shed for our sins) if we come to him with a repentant heart we would be saved.
