"Insurance after a car crash is so damn expensive!!"
"Last time I tried this, shit exploded. Let's hope I have better luck this time..."
"Holy crap!! Well, there goes my car!"
So! ... Missed me?
Go use a different payphone. This one's taken.
"Very Funny."
Hangover II MeredithxDerek
She'd woken up with a hangover.
Meredith Redford, who's middle name was practically Control, had woken up with a fucking hangover... How the hell had that happened?
She blamed Stefan.
No, she blamed herself.
Groaning, she got to her feet, inwardly cursing the sunlight which was splitting through her long windows with something of a vengeance this morning. How had things gotten to that point? The reasoning part of her brain seemed to be humming in worry, but she shut it off, determinedly. So what? It was probably for the better. Besides, it's not like anyone would have to chastise her about it. The closest ones would not be there this time. Carter was no longer in her life and Kimberly had her own baggage to deal with right now. And the last conversation she intended to have with Crystal would be about her coping mechanisms. No way, José.
Besides, if alcohol helped muddy the thoughts in her mind just enough to make them all bearable, perhaps that was a good thing. Something to be grateful for. Better than dealing with them, anyway. Meredith raised the glass of water in a mocking toast to herself before draining it quickly.
She had places to go and the world would not wait on a hangover.
So she slipped on a fitted top and dark skirt and finished her morning routine, applying her lipstick just so. At least she'd be presenting an impeccable front for the world to see - after all, appearances were all that mattered sometimes. No one bothered to look beyond that.
Slipping on her black-heeled boots, Meredith grabbed her purse before walking out the door. She'd take the long route today. Through the forest. Maybe the hangover would recede by the time she got to work...
Well there's a face I was not expecting to see here of all places...
