I think many people watch The Walking Dead because the stakes are so high.

We're all waiting for a major character to die soon, aren't we? The prisoners were all killed off. There's Tyreese, Sasha, Allen and Ben who unwillingly entered into Nazi-like Woodbury hoping for salvation. There's Andrea who's torn between the two camps. In the comics she eventually becomes Rick's lover. She's with the Governor in the TV series, who in the comics was less charismatic and handsome. There's Rick, Carl, the Greenes, Michonne, Glenn, Carol, and the Dixons brothers. My guess is the Governor will die by the end of Season 3. What remains to be seen is who will kill him: his own people, Andrea, Rick, Glenn, Daryl, Michonne, or the walkers.

This is all exciting, riveting, and Shakespearean. Everybody dies in the end, but it's how they die and what they do that matters.
