If you're wondering what Israel lost in these elections... I don't read Arabic, but a single photo is a thousand words. The woman is the current party leader. She's the daughter of Holocaust survivers and a leader of the liberal, left wing MERETZ party, the man is a local Israeli Arab politician working to get things done for his community.

for a brief time, the part was headed by an openly gay man (pictured here), and yes, Israelis Arabs voted for him.
