hi hello I have gone to the world of the nice magic friend to see her magic but I smelled fishies and wanted more snackies so I followed the smell and hello person! magic smells like fish so maybe they can make fishie treats for me?

I am also better at the showing face thing now, yes? makes it easier to see my face and the face of the maybe new friend!

The Magician - Mergle

Mergle has always been a strange one. Their coming into being was an accident-- a spell gone wrong that resulted in the creation of an impressionable magical entity. It reached outwards, taking aspects of those nearby to give itself self and form. From Melly, it took on a softness both in and out, along with a spider-y inclination to mischief. From Hannah, it took a steadfast will, with a desire to protect and comfort alongside a birdlike adventurousness. And from Stephen Strange, the Sorcerer Supreme, it gained the ability to learn magic.

They were taken in by the two wielders present, and though Strange protested, Mergle did not give him a choice. They called them ‘moms’, and came to love their strange, cross-dimensional family as much as they did. Their knack for being able to learn spells simply by seeing them made them a quick learner, and often utilized what they knew to sate their curiosity-- and when that curiosity began to drift back into the past, they found themself able to hop back in time to see for themself.

Fortunately, having a friend that can travel back in time makes it easy to go back and retrieve your magical, time-travelling cat, especially before anything can be drastically changed-- though they fortunately seemed to have kept Strange’s caution in terms of meddling with more prominent things. But one can still wonder: would anything have changed? Has their presence already caused changes to the flow of events, or were they always meant to have travelled back to the whens that they arrived in? Did their visits to the past end up paradoxically ensuring their eventual existence, or would they have come into being regardless?

Maybe Mergle knows... or maybe they don’t. They’ve always had a sense about them that they understand more than they seem to about the magic they wield. Either way, Mergle won’t be telling-- that would be a spoiler, and their moms told them to never tell spoilers to anyone that asks for them.

oh yes I know how the box works! like how the little thing shows how much lightning the box has. it still has some and is yellow. why do you ask?

yes hello hi are you new friend? hello! you smell like a lot of places. yes I like hugs and fishie snacks and chicken like what I had from moms’ fridge. but yes yes hugs! I am soft and good for hugs. do you want hugs as small fluff or big fluff? I can do both!

mom found me! I am glad to see mom again but she says I have to go now and give the box back and I was going to do that anyway because if I take the box then mom will not have the box and that could cause problems for our now. maybe I will come back and visit later! but maybe I will also see you when you reach the now where I exist. thank you for the snackies friends!

Uh Hi Mergle... so you’ve mentioned something about being able to ‘smell’ magic and describing it as nice and warm. And I’ve seen from your other responses that you can eat spells. Are you able consume magic’s energy output and if so... can you describe the taste/smell of different spells you’ve had? I’m curious to know what it’s like.

yes yes I am made of magic and know lots of spells. can feel and smell it and know what it is like. spells are not tasty to eat but spells are things I can learn like how the warm one did a talking spell on me once and now I can use the talking spell to talk when I want to talk! do not have to eat the magic but if I can see what it does then I can do it too! if I do eat magic I make it mine and can do all the spells I know with my magic. I have some things I can do that I got from my moms too but there was also a grumpy man there when I started existing and they said that’s why I can do so much magic yes
