The first ever Muris (aka MerImp) is COMPLETED! This was an interesting prototype to make, and while there were a few hiccups along the way, I think they turned out pretty cute. And yes, I'm actually glad I went with the more textured embroidery because it really does fit with the overall look of the Muris.

I'll be getting some official photos later, but I didn't want to wait to post this little one (their name is Changing Tides, or Tides for short)

Back fin going on! All that remains is the head fin after this, and then the little prototype #MerImp will be done!

Attaching the tail to the #MerImp body before actually adding the head. I'll most likely stop here for the night once I'm done, and worry about the other parts tomorrow.

So I learned I should have waited with putting together the bottom fin (had to handsew it in), BUT the tail looks pretty cute over all. Can't wait to see the full MerImp finished now

Satin stitch looks far better (and far cleaner) than the first test. Also found out that I do not need the top stabilizer for this project, so that is one less thing to worry about. So yay, next step will be doing the real tail embroidery, but that'll happen on Sunday when I have some free time to run my machine #muris #merimp

Top part of the MerImp is going to be made from the normal sock and batik combo, headfin is going to be made from felt, and the tail / fins are going to be made from minky (future Muris will have custom printed minky tails). If this one works out, next test will be the MerImplings
