New Questions for YOU to Answer HERE
My Questions:
1) What usually wakes you up in the morning, and at what time?
If you mean literally, I have an alarm clock that goes off that's usually set to WGN (a Chicago radio station). If you mean how do I motivate myself to move beyond the zombie stage, it's hot chocolate and the necessity of driving without crashing my car. I get up around 6:30 every morning so I can be at work (I'm a nanny) by 7:15.
2) What sort of music do you like/ normally listen to? Feel free to list some favourite bands/ people here too.
My taste in music can vary pretty widely, but I've found that I have an enduring love for Regina Spektor and The Black Keys as far as contemporary music goes. (So I guess indie/blues/rock?) I've also spent a lot of time in choirs, though, so I can appreciate a good choral mass when I hear it (and by that I mean any that I've performed and can sing along with). And, of course, I grew up in a Beatles household, so the Fab Four will forever have a hold on my heart--pardon the alliteration.
3) Do you have any animals (be they pets or not)? If so what are they?
Yes! I have the best dog in the whole wide world, and she's laying next to me as I type this. Her name is Margot, and she's part black Lab and part German short-haired pointer. I could probably type paragraphs about how adorable she is, but I'm going to just stop here.
4) How did you pick your tumblr name?
I wanted to join the community and picked the first url that I could think of that wasn't already taken; it's pretty simple, but it also doesn't lead people to think I'm a fandom-specific blog when I'm not. (Insert *JOIN ALL THE FANDOMS* picture here.)
5) Do you wish you’d spent more or less time in education than you did?
Well, I'm still in college, so hopefully I can look back on this later and say "Exactly as much time as I did!" considering how much effort I'm putting into the whole ordeal. (I would also say money, but I'm delighted to be attending a small college on a full academic scholarship at the moment. Whoopee!)
6) When you first accessed the internet back in the day, what was it you used to do online?
Jeez, I don't even remember. YouTube? I remember YouTube used to be kind of off-limits in our house, because my parents were suspicious of the video content back in the day. Oh, and MLIA--I remember that used to be a big thing.
7) Do you still have any soft toys?
Yes! I have a teddy bear my Pop-pop gave me that I will never give up, and a Raggedy Anne doll my grandma made me when I was little.
8) What’s your favourite cake and ice cream flavour? Feel free to insert any other sweet food that comes in various flavours if you don’t eat cake and/ or ice cream though.
My favorite cake is definitely yellow/vanilla with chocolate frosting (specifically my mother's home-made, since I usually don't like store-bought cakes; too much super-sugary icing! I'm a total cake snob, thanks to her excellent baking skills). As for ice cream, chocolate forever and always! (Although I do love a good mint chocolate chip.) I'm the product of a long line of cake eaters combined with a long line of ice cream lovers, so I get the best of both worlds!
9) What's your favourite tree? Both in terms of species and if there’s an individual one anywhere.
Hmmm... I think I'm going to have to go with cottonwood. We have an enormous one in our backyard that makes it snow for us every summer :)
10) What was the first meal you learnt to cook on your own?
Does toast count? Because in that case, toast. Otherwise, probably frozen pizza or mac 'n' cheese. (Obviously my culinary skills are a bit underdeveloped.)
11) What style (length, pattern, whatever) are the vast majority of your socks? Do you have a whole different set of socks for summer/ winter?
I do have a different set for winter and summer! I have a "summer" set that are colorful and short, none of which come above my ankle, and a winter set in blues and grays that are very soft and come up to the middle of my shins. I also have some white ankle socks that I wear all year round. (This answer makes my sock choices sound very deliberate, but I didn't think much about it until this question made me realize I do, in fact, separate some of my socks by season.)
