I’ve been on that train since I read your fic. I can appreciate the potential. But I just won’t be able to ship it as much because I don’t know how to write Gaddes. He’s too well-adjusted and I’m more at ease writing more angsty characters. (Hmmm, what does that say about me LOL?)

In this chapter: Something about that never-ending storm and the weeks of isolation seemed to provoke the worst memories into resurfacing. After days of relative peace in spite of the weather, painful events began to haunt their sleep.

The timing is fortuitous since we've had some very storm weather for the past couple of weeks. So I decided to update this story today to celebrate Dilandau's birthday again.

I'm hoping I can update and maybe even finish this story by the end of the year but I don't want to make any promises. For now, I'm just glad I had the time and energy to post another chapter. We get to see a tentative truce form between these two as they wait out the storm together.

Ironically, he doesn't even appear in this chapter but he still features very prominently. I'm still building up to the background of the story since I started this in the middle and I'm getting pretty excited. It's a serious Merlandau story for once and I thought it would be good to update this today to celebrate Dilandau's birthday, as is my tradition.

We learn a little bit more about Merle's life now and it's obviously years after the war. Another favorite character pops up, inevitably, and both try to figure out what to do about Dilandau. A bit short for now but I'm building up to the good stuff.

Special thanks to @gurakruor for being intrigued by this fic and to @konstantya for your support (even though the other fic also interested you more.) I appreciate any feedback on my Escaflowne stories.

I wrote this story to celebrate his birthday last year but I never really went back to it. It's not meant to be that long but there are still a few chapters left for me to enjoy and explore this forced proximity premise. I figured now's a better time than any to post another chapter so here it is.
