#merlee stuff

I was bored and decided to do some stuff. Despite it being very simple, I wanted to show some things about Merlee

So, Merlee is a mage, spell caster, witch, conjurer, whatever names that exists out there. And as someone that deals with the supernatural or, otherwise, otherworldly, she can see auras. From what she has read, auras is literally the life force of every living being no matter what species, gender, or whatever it can be.

If it lives, it has an aura (btw, this is pretty much my interpretation of what I'm describing). Plant life has an aura, but a very faint one. Might be easy for a druid to see the full aura of nature itself or anyone that is a part of nature 24/7. Another interesting thing about Merlee seeing auras is her being able to sense presences. If it's something familiar, let's say, Rowyna's aura presence, then she knows that's Rowyna. If it's someone unfamiliar, then it's obvious she has to look out for said unfamiliar presence. Now, a catch with sense an aura's presence is that she can sense it, but she doesn't know the EXACT location of where said presence is.

In summary, this is basically similar from the anime Soul Eater where the main characters can sense a person's soul, how powerful they are, yadda, yadda, yadda. I've pretty much done the same thing? Accidentally? I just unknowingly did a thing for Merlee and then I basically put two and two together and realized "oh crap... it's like Soul Eater... huh. Well, cue the X-Files theme."

Anyway... are some examples of what Merlee sees.

The basic aura (left figure): Trolls that are normal. Their aura appears in the color of what color blood they have. So even those that try to hide their blood color are exposes right away, but Merlee is kind. Other than that, it's a basic outline around a person's figure and overall that they're normal.

The hidden aura's/aura's that come in an out due to some unknown source (middle head bust): As Merlee being a magic user, she has the ability to hide her own aura. Either to be wary of other magic users that may have aura reading abilities or other things. Other times, there's those that have an aura but will come in and out. It's usually either said person is undead and their aura is basically fading in and out since they're in the bridge of the living and the dead. Or other theories, depending on the person with a confusing aura. Other times auras may change from one person. It'd be normal and then becomes intense the next. Possibly the person has a powerful spirit within them and come out every so often or has a split personality. Many things depending on the person. Fading auras or auras changing in intensity is a gamble to Merlee when facing people that she meets.

Powerful auras (right head bust): Now that we got the other two out of the way, there is one last thing about auras that is important. Powerful auras. Greater in intensity and can be involved in someone trying to hide it or is a powerful undead with a powerful, fading aura. If a powerful aura can be sensed it's usually associated to the person having an ability/power that is now comprehended to Merlee. Morrin is a good example. Merlee has faced Morrin and he has multiple powers and therefore has a powerful aura. Another good example is Amaran (spookyrebeltrolls). Merlee met Amaran and has seen the sea dweller's powerful aura and seen it fade in and out due to Amaran being undead but surviving, and still looking good as new, because of an important magical item. That and Amaran is a magic user. Hence the word "MAGICAL."

Now, I will say this again... I didn't think that what I just did would be similar to soul reading from Soul Eater. The whole thing with Merlee able to see/sense auras literally came out of nowhere one day and then I just decided "hey, this sounds pretty good. I'll make this a thing from now on and also because Merlee is a magic user and makes sense that she would have an ability like this."

As I was thinking of typing this, I just then realized that this is similar to soul reading from Soul Eater and it was the most awkward realization that lasted all but three seconds.

But hey, I guess I can say that it's a good inspiration? idk. I'm just building upon my characters and I guess the world of fantrolls in general even though a lot of us have our own headcanons on certain things? Tis but a strange world the internet is.

random facts because I am comfy in my bed and bored a little so I will be spewing random info of my critters

Merlee has been very disruptive on certain high bloods as of late

mainly just poking the nest

more so reliving the days she was a spirit with her mage snd how they both used to mess with high bloods every now and then

that and Merlee is at a point in her life that she wants to just have fun, be outgoing, live a little even if it means messing with some people but not in a harmful way

❀Amorra: she flusters very easily. she has not been very social with anyone and so any mistake or slight thing that would be considered "odd" to anyone else, she will crawl back into her hole in embarrassment uvu;;

❀Serena: I think I've said it before but she likes taking swims. more so that she also does it during the winter and if anyone were to pass by her, she will literally offer them to join her... JOKINGLY because she's the only troll capable of withstanding cold temperatures (never take her seriously... she doesn't want to be held responsible if someone freezes to death because of her. she won't know what to do .w.)

❀Galenu: at her bakery, she always sets up a small party for any of her co-workers if their birthday is coming up and will spend a day at her home to bake their favorite cake (and she will find out by just... politely asking). she just likes doing nice things ;u;

❀Merlee: she rarely swears. normally, she doesn't swear. she likes to speak normally but if she gets flustered or gets angry then she will let it all out... even more so bad when her magic gets involved and some are tied to her emotions. if she's embarrassed, she'll possibly slowly levitate :o

now for Cilrus... I still can't reveal anything about her... yet. I have something planned for her >u>

✿: for me! I have straaaaaaaaaaaaaaaange dreams. not like the ones where it's just... something simple and you're like "what the fuck?" I mean "holy shit there's an alligator in my home even though it's the home I lived... way before and the location doesn't make sense for there to be an alligator and or crocodile just... CRAWLING down the hall????"

I also have some sleep paralysis dreams but it's ones where I'm just stuck in a loop, trying to get myself awake by rolling off the bed but only to get reset onto the position I was in before. those are terrifying ;;

Merlee got a job at a cafe that is purely magic themed. the Mystikal Cafe with her boss, Gretta, knowing magic. previously, Merlee wanted to sell potions in a way to make money because beforehand, she didn’t do much in terms of getting money since she didn’t know there was much more to Alternia than just the tundra she lived in. Gretta came across Merlee when she walked pass the cafe and offered her a job then and there. not all the baristas know magic. pretty much Merlee is the only one along with her boss, who watches over Merlee and the rest

Neonce wasn’t actually blind to begin with. she did have her sight when she was a kid but her sight slowly got bad as she grew up and eventually, one day, she work up blind. she was scared, still is. trying to figure out where everything is, the layout of her hive, and overall afraid of leaving her hive in fear that she’ll get lost and might not find her way back home. she slowly adapted though. learning the layout of her hive and figuring out where everything is. as for leaving her hive, she lives in the middle of the woods and the nearest city isn’t too far but she wanted to be safe and either marked trees with some cloth or carved some bark out of a tree so it’s bare on one spot for her to feel. a just-in-case policy if the cloth were to disappear, taking in consideration of the wildlife. even that, it didn’t stop her on playing piano and her violin. the piano took a long time to figure out blind but her violin was quick to learn since she just has to figure out her fingering on the strings and learning by the sound (I would know, I played violin in my orchestra class in high school owo;;;)

Jaisnt, at a young age, was, and is, a weapon enthusiast and knows how any weapon works. at least ones he makes or is familiar with. but besides being a weapon expert, and gun and blacksmith, he also plays acoustic guitar from time-to-time. he usually plays it when he’s stressed out or having a bad day and whenever he feels that way, he picks up his guitar and just plays whatever comes to find, often times sings to himself. it’s quite rare to catch him singing. he doesn’t like to show it off. he doesn’t know why but he just does it when he’s alone. it helps him clear his mind on things c:

Sorrow for Merlee

Merlee often hides her emotions. at least she used to but now generally lets it out. her way of showing sorrow is often feeling very hugging, or wanting to be hugged

often times she would listen to a music box that was given to her by her mate to ease her thoughts and drown any negative thoughts she has in the back of her mind

or she would do a task to distract herself whether it be practicing a spell, doing alchemy, or practicing wielding her scythe

literally trying to protect those she cares about/trying to open up on her problems that she’s having because she doesn’t want anyone to be involved

FEAR for Merlee?

FEAR. -What are your muses biggest fears?

The feeling of being weak or helpless. She has had moments where she’s scared that she can’t go on any further of whatever it could be. Whether it being overcoming a task or trying to move on from something. It’s enough to eat her up that she makes stupid mistakes that she knows she’ll regret.
