I have fallen down the merlin wiki rabbit hole and

WE KNOW SO LITTLE ABOUT VIVIENNE???

Other than the fact that she was both morgana and morgose's mother and the affair and gorlois being her hisband we know nothing.

We dont know why morgose was smuggled out of camelot?

We dont know how/if vivienne is dead?

We dont if she had magic/was she also a high priestess?

Sir Boris and Sir Avanon are knights of Camalot. Unlike most knights of Camalot however they are reasonably sane.

So they do the sane thing when you live in the Bermuda Triangle of magic.

Go on quests ALL THE TIME.

"Oh wow an anciant sorcerer returned from the grave while we were gone and made all the gargoyales come to life to atack everyone? Thats rough budy. On a TOTALLY unrelated note we're going off to find the.... er.... Pelt of Anamorn!"

"Oh so while were where gone this time a Dragon atacked? That must have sucked. We brought back a chalice that is always filled with water for the vaults. So sorry we missed the dragon atack. We would have backed you guys up! Anyway we're off to find a legendary axe! Bye!!!"

Headcanon about Arthur (or Freya??)

Agh. I always take so long to come up with headcanons lmao

I've already done a couple on Arthur, but hmmm, let's see... Freya...

In my world, if Freya survived, she would be able to change in and out of her Bastet form whenever she liked (except for a few limitations like maybe she has to shift at least once a week or something because the curse is just so intertwined with her body).

My biggest headcanon that also fits in with canon is that the Bastet curse was taking up all her magical abilities which is why we don't see her doing any magic in Merlin. She used to have the magical abilities of an average person (say a step below Gaius's power), but when she was cursed, the curse caused her magic to turn against her and regularly turn her into a bloodthirsty-Bastet each night.

Which is why Merlin was the only one all this time who was able to calm her down in her Bastet form. 1) Because she loved Merlin and his soft, gentle and reassuring ways deeply and also 2) because Merlin is Emrys, he is magic and so he was able to reach out to Freya's magic through their connection with one another and calm it down.

And before the Lake of Avalon, while Merlin was sobbing and whispering for her to not let go, his magic listened and made Freya the Lady of the Lake. The Triple Goddess saw what Merlin was (subconsciously) doing and since he's Emrys, she trusted his reasoning and helped with the process to make Freya the Guardian of Avalon.

BBC Merlin: Drunk Arthur/sober Merlin and drunk Merlin/sober Arthur headcanons 🍻

PLS this is one of the best things someone asked me!

Drunk Arthur/ Sober Merlin

Before the drinking starts Merlin is already warning Arthur: "Don't drink too much, you're insufferable when drunk". Arthur, of course, denies being an embarrassing drunk and drinks too much anyways.

If Merlin is already overworked with sober Arthur can you imagine dealing with drunk Arthur? He is a whiny drunk for certain.

Merlin has to carry him to his chambers, but Arthur will make it difficult every step of the way! The stairs are Merlin's enemy, Arthur has quite a tendency of just throwing himself down the stairs.

Mutters something incomprehensible like "Le' go 'me, can wal' pffly fine". When Merlin actually lets him go, Arthur just falls on his butt and looks around confused.

Arthur doesn't sleep at all while drunk, which basically means Merlin will have to babysit him until morning. You can't trust Arthur Pendragon when he's drunk, he will wander around the castle and probably fall down the stairs again.

Will start babbling about how Merlin is a decent servant as if Merlin wasn't in the room. Will also talk about how much of a burden being a prince is.

Hungover Arthur is the worst. Merlin considers suffocating the future king of Camelot with a pillow on those moments.

Drunk Merlin/ Sober Arthur

Now that's uncommon. As much as Arthur likes to think Merlin is an alcoholic who constantly goes to the tavern, our magic boy only drinks casually. But one particular night he is too engaged in a celebration with the knights of the round table and ends up drinking too much.

First, he gets even more sassier when drunk. Don't try him, you'll get burned. He's throwing shade at everyone, specially Arthur.

Also, he will match energies with other annoying drunks and cause fights. That's when Lancelot and Gwaine are like "nop, time to sleep, friend"

Arthur will offer to take Merlin to his room because he is a protective himbo.

Merlin will demand to be carried like a princess (although Arthur just throws him over his shoulders like a sack of potatoes).

Merlin will also throw insults at everyone that crossed their path, poor Arthur has to smack his ass to shut him up.

Sleeps as soon as he hits the bed and will not wake up for a loooong time (Arthur will have to dress himself the next morning because that servant is not waking up).

Hungover Merlin is a bad mood Merlin. Arthur will make fun of his drunk shenanigans for weeks.

I mean, he says things that are very cryptic and not helpful and seems to do his best to be as annoying as possible however he will help Merlin if necessary and if he asks the right way

BBC Merlin: Merlin kissing headcanons?

YASSSS (thank you for that). I'm not sure if you meant THE Merlin himself kissing headcannons or the show's characters kissing headcannons so I'm going to do both :)

Merlin:

He is a busy boy, constantly running around the castle (or almost dying somewhere else), which means he doesn't have much time to spend kissing. But when he does have the time he is so silly and cute.

He likes quick kisses between errands or right before bedtime. Slow and longer ones are for comfort times (specially when he's dealing with bad news).

He loves to give agressive kisses when something really good happens or when he just had a perfect idea for something. He just grabs and kisses and proceeds to run away laughing.

He was an awkward kisser at first and also super shy to ask for more. Would smile and blush furiously. He is now a master of kissing.

Will absolutely die if kissed in public, he never received such public affection before so it's quite hard for him to process.

If he is too giddy when kissing, magic will manifest somehow (random air sparkles or things just flying around), the poor boy has to be careful sometimes.

Finds other couples kissing a little disgusting. Like, excuse me sir warlock, but you do that too??

Honorable mentions:

Arthur: Passionate kisser. He has many near death experiences and danger is always around him, so his kisses hold a lot of emotional weight. Will kiss for a long time and brush noses with his partner.

Morgana: Also a passionate kisser, but likes to start with the tip of the nose, the eyes and finally a proper kiss on the lips. She likes to be kissed while recovering from nightmares and also offers them as comfort.

Gwen: Forehead kisses. She likes giving and receiving them. She also loves long and slow kisses, specially on lazy rainy mornings. Also loves to give good luck kisses on hard days.

Since we are approaching the end of the year, I wanted to thank my followers and occasional readers for all the love. It's been a hard year (the last 5 yrs were horrible to be honest) and writing my silly stories and rants are a good therapeutic activity. I'm struggling a lot with my finances and mental health daily, but this community makes me keep going.

I hope this 2023 I can improve my life enough to dedicate more time to writing here and maybe start another long fic when I finish my current one.
