i kinda like to headcanon that merlin still went back to ealdor after balinor's death and explained to hunith that he didn't just take off because he didn't love her ect and how he's now a dragonlord and huniths rly worried but then kinda smug because if ever anyone like kanen comes back, they have a fucking dragonlord on their side!! i also hope merlin went back after arthur's death, too

Hunith's soo proud of her little man ♥ Who's not so little, but of all the things he is and all the claims people and gods and kings have to him he'll always belong to his mother. Too think such a powerful warlock is just a mothers boy. I'm sure she writes to Gaius all the time asking where he is and how he's doing. I should wonder after Arthur's death if he didn't go back, what Gaius would be saying, if he'd tell her the truth or spare her heartache and lie.
