So, last year I had the pleasure to finally show you the resident sharkman and planned to do more with Josh before I got caught in other projects and commissions. So this year I humbly offer you the mer!forms for the remaining muses of this blog.
Let’s start with Lucien. Well, he has a bad case of resting bitch face and tends to be a little creepy in the terrifying sense of the term. He would thus be a creature of the deep, of a hidden world even. He'd possess some form of bioluminescence in the form of spots on his back and spikes like a viperfish. Also a mustache, very pointy like a catfish.
Let's move on to the ladies now. Willow would be a squid. A big squid. Specifically she's a mix between a vampire squid and a firefly squid. The first part adds a fancy lovecraftian dress to the design while the second would be a nice counterpart to the usual pattern on her coat.
Next up is Erica. Where to begin? Imagine something kinda cute, whose color vaguely reminds you of cows that's following your boat around just for the funsies. Something that smiles and cheers before it drags you to your death in the dark pits of the ocean. Indeed, she'd take after an orca. Even without being the sheer size of one, you won't have to look at mer!Erica for long before it hits you just how messed up it gets.
Fae is slightly less horrifying. She'd take after a betta fish and yes, she's a lovely dancer as far as fish tails go. Keep in mind, the betta fish is also called fighter fish sometimes, she isn't all fun and games either.
As far as mer!Mark is concerned, he takes after the arowana. He's big, friendly and takes care of those smaller than him. He's very big, so he might take care of a human or two if the situation calls for it. Still nice, even if it won't be so easy to get away from him.
Miles was a bit more challenging, as his entire personality is too much even for the ocean. In any case, he's related to the manta ray. He's so damn proud of his cape he'll talk your ears off. He’s strangely obsessed with fire and watching burning ships.
Then of course there's Rook. I was going to make the joke that she'd take after some fish that can survive outside of water for a long time (like a lungfish) and gladly does so because she's afraid of the ocean. But then I was introduced to the epaulette shark. If you've never seen one, you should fix that. They're cute.
