i have lost 70% of my income as my store is most of my income atm. hopefully i can reopen orders to the USA soon, but it will come at a cost to all USA customers and I need to figure out how to implement it, as I have to collect the taxes, and even etsy wont collect tariff taxes for me
It's absolutely not fair that every other nation in the entire world has to actively care about and witness the USA President election. We can't do much at all to swing the vote, but all our lives are affected - I know it's also not fair that USA citizens have a fucked up voting system and you literally have to pick the slightly better option with no other choice - I'm sorry. But please vote. Even for the slightly better option. Your vote matters.

After being to the USA I have a completely different perspective on it. Other Aussies often say "why would I go there?", and it wasn't on my list of places to visit at all, I ended up there coz my partner had work there. But now I realise more about how sad and broken but Also how beautiful it is! So many towns with heaps of shops closed, the roads were poorly maintained, and the billboards in some places...not great. But, the people, the nature, it was beautiful. I want to go back. I didn't think I would want to. It makes me sadder after seeing a small slice. The US could be the amazing country that it says it is. But it's not, but it could be. But it's got beauty that I didn't see before. I was wrong about the US. USAmericans you barely have a democracy. Your voting is barely equal. And I am sorry. I'm sorry you haven't updated your democracy so people's voices are equal. It's horrific. And this barely put together democracy affects every other nation in the world. It sucks. It sucks for everyone
I know everything feels hopeless right now, but USamericans, Ive seen some weird thoughts on voting. I know you are forced to pick between two bad options. But for everyone on this EARTH you HAVE to vote. The USA election affects every other nation on Earth, and it is so frustrating and upsetting seeing USamericans opting not to vote when I, across the ocean, wish I could DO SOMETHING. Me begging you to vote is the only thing I can do. Voting is something YOU CAN DO to make a difference.
Voting is one of the few times you can actually use your power in a democracy (protesting and right to protest is another good one). And it DOES count. Every single vote counts. There's even an entire Wikipedia page about close elections.
I know you have two bad options. But it isn't a win to withhold voting entirely because of Biden, you need to vote so that Trump gets less votes. Withholding your vote won't hurt the Democrats, it'll help the Republican party.
ive figured out a way for USA shipping to only affect americans (sorry) on my independent shop, I had to very quickly increase all prices on my etsy to allow myself to take tariffs, but this harms all non-americans - I will be adjusting that ASAP as I figured out a way to make sure it's americans being charged extra, not everyone! Apologies for this. Please order on my independent shop if you can for now this has been a nightmare to deal with ;_;
