What is something that you learned in the year 2024?
I've learned a great deal this year. I would give you one of the more valuable lessons I'll learned but I'll go with one of the wildest things I've learned. Someone told me that they read an article that said Abraham Lincoln was a pro wrestler. I looked it up and apparently he is even in the wrestling hall of fame. The more you know, right?

What is something that you learned in the year 2024?
The male duck-billed platypus is venomous. They look cute and cuddly but they could definitely kill you if they set their sights on doing such. It's got a half-inch spurs on each of its hind legs that can inject venom. Fortunately, it isn't enough to harm a human but it can definitely kill other animals. The moral of this story is don't underestimate people. or things that look cute.

What is something that you learned in the year 2024?
I don't think that there was any grand eye opening moment for me. I'll simply say that 2024 was the kind of year where I learned that you cannot outrun things. There are times when you have to simply embrace where you are in life, what you've been through and admit that you aren't where you want to be. It doesn't matter where you go, you won't be happy until you accept that life does what it wants to when it wants to do it. Also letting go but that is a whole other story.

What is something that you learned in the year 2024?
How to make ricotta cookies from scratch, the best way to keep an asparagus fern alive through the winter months, a new stitch when mending ripped pants, the life cycle of a praying mantis that I watched in my garden, a little more about senior citizen homes, how to fix a leaking pipe (call my dad), and the importance of found family, no matter how much you love your biological one.

What is something that you learned in the year 2024?
How to be a dog dad, although I'm still in the process of learning that is ever evolving and something that you never stop learning. But it's nice to have company, someone in the camper to take care of outside of myself. Ghost has been the best thing to happen to me this entire year, truly.

What is something that you learned in the year 2024?
I could bore you by telling you all of the things I've learned in the garage -- which is a lot -- but I've also learned to laugh a little more, and to sometimes, occasionally, every now and then wear colors that aren't black. But not often.

What is something that you learned in the year 2024?
That I'm actually more okay with being on my own than I thought. I've always been a serious relationship kind of girly, and I think it took me a little longer than I would have liked to get to a point post-divorce where I wasn't searching something out. But I got there, and I'm very glad that I did! This year has been a lot of getting to know Livvy. And I'm glad for that.
