If may ask and feel free to not answer. Was this a reduction and how much lighter do you feel breathing wise?
This was a reduction, yes! Not top surgery, though I would have loved it if it were. I’m agender, but I’ve always had a particular hatred of my breasts, and would have loved to be flat chested.
I’m in NC, and they count top surgery as cosmetic, and I don’t have the money to do that out of pocket. Breast reduction, however - they count as medical, so I went and jumped thru the hoops to prove ‘titty = hurty’ to get insurance to do their job. I started this process back in January, if you can believe it.
I went from a size 32-i to a 32-c. Breathing right now is actually a lil harder cause I’ve gotta wear a ‘bandage bra’, and everything is p tight. But I can already tell it’ll be even more wonderful once the healing stage is done. I feel .. sooo much lighter. And I can like. sit up without slumping over to minimize back pain? I’ll be able to buy shirts for the sake of fashion now? I won’t have to go to a special store to buy bras at $80 a pop??? i CAN HAVE A BATHING SUIT THAT FUNCTIONS??? I’ll even be able to bind now - that was never a possibility before. Most importantly, I won’t have to plan my days around ‘how much chronic pain will I have to endure in order to spend time out’!!
This is going to change so much for me and I’m super stoked.
