🎨 and 🛒 for the ask game? :o
🎨 How do you feel about fan art of your stories?
I ADORE fanart of my stories! I literally cry over every single one, like… it’s the best feeling to see something I wrote captured in an image. To know it inspired someone to take the time to create something in return. It’s so special to me, I never get over it.
🛒 What are some common things you incorporate in your fics? Themes, feels, scenes, imagery, etc.
I include a lot of star and space imagery in my writing. And light, like sparks and flames and flickers. Burning intensity and a soft, warm glow. Most of the time it’s intentional, but sometimes I’ll go back and reread things, like, “oh… it’s still here.” It’s kind of nice, in a familiar sort of way. Though sometimes it feels like, “find some new metaphors, please!” xD
Connections are always really important to me. Like, soulmate bond level, whether that’s romantic or platonic in nature, I love examining bonds that are just so tightly intertwined. Coping with anxiety is a frequent theme, in a way that I think a younger me would’ve benefitted from reading about. I think I write a lot of my stories for her, and the people out there that might be like her.
I think I also really like tracking a character’s growth. It’s why I need every fic to be connected in some sort of timeline because the story isn’t over yet, there’s still so much more to explore at every age. Playing with time, going back and forth through different periods of a character’s life is really fun to me. I enjoy reading things like that and enjoy writing them.
Not sure if that fully covers the prompt, but this one was a bit of a challenge to think about. Very interesting though!
