God i fucking love when Carl gets to use his boat knowledge like fuckkkkk . first of all competent . about his field and can use it for his crafty plans also fuckkkk yes god damn. secondly he feels like a real solid character with a backstory that comes up naturally when its relevant and not expositiony. it's just. ugh. so good

and Carl? my boy Carl? who has always felt alone and hurt with a fucked up family life and a serial-cheating girlfriend? who is so angry from anyone getting hurt and who tries so hard to save everyone and burn down the games because he cares so much? so much that it is a given, a guarantee that he will try to save anyone, even if he seems crazy, will cost him his life or anything like that.

Yeah he's seen the lengths his party and friends will go through for him, what Donut will go through for him

i swear to god he better feel the love, the community he created by caring for literally every person he comes across.

Carl never wanted a pet. Even after all his pets dying he still loves Donut. He cares for her so much, even before the dungeon he was finding an apartment that took pets, he was going to look after Donut after she was abandoned. HE CARES SO MUCH 😭😭 i love him so much, Donut is his girl.

AHHHHHHH. AH. AH. ok. normal coherant sentences.

this just happened i just read it and while it was a split second decision (that worked) it is so similar and reflects Carl's philosophy so well

'a star's destructive power' ? - Carl a star of the dungeon crawler world, deeply destructive of the power and systems around him. also bombs. for good. HIS MOTTO IS BURN IT TO THE GROUND.

'Power, once held, must never sit idle' - Does everything he can to the point of insanity (his plans, his desperation to help other survive) because he can, becuase he knows he can and he cannot sit back while other people suffer and die and get left behind if there is anything he can do about it. 'It is to be used and never squandered' of course he hates Quan Ch, he has so much power given to him (unfairly) by Carl himself and Quan Ch does NOTHING with it but be a selfish cowardly prick saving himself and actively hurting others for the sake of power and reward.
