ok ok so i dont mind the hatred rewrite in theory although it does kinda screw up the lore of this blog lmao which is fine. i will continue to do my own thing because i like my lore. anyways VV

^^ but they wrote him like a DISNEY VILLIAN i actually really like thr change with greed's tix being replaced with the time machine. it makes hatred seem less suspicous as builderman bjt JESUS CHRIST THE DIALPGUE BLOAT IS BAD GOLLY GOSH. i havent fully plaed demo 5 or the chr 2, 3, and 4 rewrites but from what i can tell the dialogue is way more bloated now. hatred pre rewrite monologue was short and sweet but now... it dookie...... :(

hopefully they fix him and all the other emotions... and maybe cut down on the talking please

ok also side notw about this blog, i stopped posting because i felt very burnt out. i really wanted to post more but it was just hard for me to think up answers for asks. but after the dookie rewrite i actually have ideas for a rewrite of demo 3 that would make sense with the current lore. so maybe i'll post more, but also i tend to forget to do stuff i want to do...

i will try my best to sort through and clear out my ask box when i get the time too.

**Adressing the Re-Writes**

Consumed feedback about chapter 3's rewrite, will make adjustments. The emotions were modified to reflect the player insert, and how they feel. Rather than them being generic representations of their assigned architype.

-# Hence the use of "we" instead of "you," it is also the reason why Greed, and Sorrow do not recognize Builderman as Hatred. Since the player themselves at this point in the story believe him to actually be Builderman. However, it looks like it was leaned into, too heavily... coming out more corny, and direct than intended.

There was a lot to fix with chapter 3's place (specifically hatred,) and their place in the overall story. Prior to re-write the emotions were a dead end, as the original plot wrote them out entirely. However, on reflection we over-corrected.

Chapter 3 is a bit more direct as of now, and some of the emotions lose their edge as a result. Will re-visit the original dialogues to try and match the vibe.

Far as I understand seeing as I have not seen many complaints about the other chapter re-writes, I'm going to assume those settled over well with the community.

Modifications to both will ideally be made during Demo 6's development

i cut out all the demo 5 spoilers go to the blocktales discord to see the full thing. dear god these people really need to hire someone on the outside to read over these scripts. but yeah whay i suspected turned out to be true.

blocktales devs your players aren't stupid don't treat them like they are. they can handle not everything being directly spelled out to them. the original dialogue hit that sweet spot perfectally and only needed minor modifications.

sorry for not answering all the builderman blog asks. the reccons kinda killed my motivation for it lol. mayhaps i'll get back to it when chapter 5 comes out. B)
