forces of nature;
They sometimes call her the widow maker when she’s angry. When she does, she touches ground and when she touches ground, no one can get in her way. Some see this as beautiful, and they chase after her. Those eyes, they change color just as her mood shifts. They’re sometimes like deep ice, other times they’re on fire, they can be golden, verdant, or even like black holes. She’s forgiving when she wants to be, other times she tears the wings off birds for sport. Sometimes she cries, just so they can drink the tears from her eyes. Still, she can be happy, and when she is, she shines with the power of the sun. She’s magnetically inclined and all the colors of the rainbow dance across her face in an ethereal dance. Seemingly fleeting. When you tickle her just right, she’ll sneeze just so the seeds in the plants can move about and bear fruit. When it gets dark, she breaks out in acne that seemingly twinkles, pinpoints of light that you can never seem to take your eyes off of. You often find yourself contemplating your place in the universe under her blemished face. Out of the blue, a pimple will shoot across the sky almost as though it had burst; searching for forever it’ll disappear. She is wary of the foes in her life, so she sleeps with one eye open, if you look close enough, it’ll seem as though it were blinking, or winking.
He’s stone cold, indomitable. A man of unmovable resilience. He’s mostly silent, but if you listen closely, he whispers into the wind as it makes him shiver. He began his life like all others like him, a mere child told to go and grow. He obeyed, almost too well. He is now the father of all around him; you could even say his seed gets around. Depending on the weather, he seems to dress quite the opposite, they say he loves the heat when it’s warm and cherishes the cold when it’s freezing. He has one eye, but it has been gouged out and now, there’s a hollow space from where he used to see the world. His clothes change seasonally, from the color of the grass to all the colors of a fire. As time goes by, he seems to grow not only taller but also wider, but that ratio is always pleasing to the eye. Every morning he spreads his arms wide and reaches for the sky. But, he's a stubborn man, set in his ways. The only time they ever forced him to deviate from his wishes was when they cut him away. He’s the woody rendition of a stone cold will.
She’s the warmth in the night when you lay there next to each other. She’s that feeling you get in the cockles of your heart when you’re close to one another. That tingling that kind of starts at your toes and sort of climbs its way to the top of your head. She’s the butterflies that like to play havoc in your stomach. The way she changes you, can turn a hard criminal into a gentle giant. She’s the late night calls, the good morning texts, the shared drinks and the dates at the roller rinks. She likes that minx coat you got her, the shoes, and dress too. She keeps your words imprinted in her mind, immortalizing them. But she can grow old, that’s rare. Usually, she dies young. She’s unpredictable when she’s young, she could be here, there or even way up where. She’s in the breakfast tacos, the pancakes and waffles too. She’s in the pillow, the blankets but especially in the night stand. You listen to her because she always has something to say, but sometimes it breaks you when you hear what is actually said. Sometimes she’s lost, but never found when you seek her. If you’re lucky, she’ll be right under your nose. She’s in the whispers, the laughs the smiles. When she’s sick, you can feel it too, the way everything seems to go cold and all the happiness in the world just disappears. If you’re unlucky, she’s the black suit you wear, bring flowers every time you visit, she liked those lilacs the best. She’s the evenings you used to spend together and the nights you wished you had spent together.
