I had a dream a few years ago that I think those of you who are interested in horror might find interesting.
The dream started with me, a few other adults, and some children we were taking care of. I was skating around on roller skates, and we were all having fun for the most part, but then a hole opened up. I was struggling to try to convince the other adults as well as children to stay away from the whole, because I knew it was quite dangerous, but they absolutely refused to stay away from it.
I knew that there was something down inside of that hole. The house that was near the hole, that was somehow also the house I am currently living in, which is also the house I grew up in, had its floor start caving in while we were inside of the house. Just as we are about to fall into the hole, one of those massive dump trucks used to move tons of material in places like the oil sands appeared under us, as if ready and waiting, and drove us out safely.
When I think back on this hole, it kind of reminds me of a picture of a dugout that I was shown from Camp Wapiti by some friends, except it didn't have water, and you also couldn't see the bottom from the outside.
Later on, the children were still playing around that damn hole for some reason, and one of them almost fell in. I prevented the child from falling in the hole, but in the process I fell in. I could see a shadow in the hole of what I knew was some monster, but the scene cut out before I could figure out what it looked like.
I think the assumption was that the character I was in died. There was a sort of post credits scene after that that was themed in a similar way to a really creepy puppet show sitcom that was supposed to be funny, but just made itself scarier. It detailed the children that were with us growing up. It ended with the music slowing down in a really creepy way and dying out.
The two women who were then watching the show were marked on how bizarre and creepy it was. They then turned to look beside them, and there was someone dead, hanging from the ceiling next to them. Looks like they've been there a while. They then screamed, and I woke up from the dream.
I know it's not fun to have nightmares when you're having them, but afterwards, I find it really cool to look back on them. It's like remembering the really cool moments in a horror movie. It feels almost like I'm seeing some deeper nature to reality, even though I know it's just brain gibberish.
