Broken Shadow
@metallicminx
It had been a week or more since Cessily’s conversation with her. The girl was some ray of sunshine; a bright light in a dark world mired with shit and arrogance. Autumn envied her, to tell it true. She was light in a world of dark.
And what was she?
A filthy, broken shadow. She lay across the park bench, metal arm limply draped over her stomach and a fresh bruise to greet the obnoxiously bright sun. Her body ached. She had a cut that, while she had tended to it, still stung like a motherfucker.
And not to mention her reaction when she’d seen the knife.
She cringed, then winced. Last night had not been kind. Last night had been brutal.
She didn’t really want to be alone.
With some difficulty, as moving her metal arm was harder without a specific screw in a certain joint, she got out her phone and sent a text.
[txt: Metallic Beauty || 10:32 a.m.] Hey. If you’re around the park, come see me?
[txt: Metallic Beauty || 10:32 a.m.] I just don’t...Um...
[txt: Metallic Beauty || 10:33 a.m.] Don’t freak?

“Wow...not to be rude, but how are you doing that with your skin?”

“So...I hear Brandon told you about Paras and I, huh?”
@metallicminx "Fifty bucks says by the end of the month, we've done it. Trust me, no man who checks out their reflection in their hands is one hundred percent straight."

He quietly holds out a notepad and pencil, careful to not draw attention to them. The note read: ‘Are you ok? Are they bothering you?’

A numbing shock went through every sensory drive and over the entirety of the craft. One moment all systems are running perfectly and the next he’s lost control of it all. Autopilot failed and in his rush to return to the controls it all failed. The ship was being pulled into the planets gravity and he can feel it. All of the alerts and warning messages began to flash and sound at once. Then, all at once, the haul went dark.

Overcast skies were disrupted by distant flash. A sonic boom broke the dulled hum of an outer world. Then another, louder, closer boom. If they were visible, animals were fleeing the area. The gradual sound of what matches a bullet train rushing in took over the area. One second the skies were clear and the next a large object was nearing, lighting up under the immense speed and friction of entering the atmosphere. Like the drop of a bowling ball in a sand pit, the object took to gravity and crashed into the lawn at an angle, ramming the nose into the earth. Its final act in its summit, was the ground shaking crash of the ship finally falling into a full stop. Inside, against a control panel, heaved a rattled syn, who was still registering the entirety of the crash in full experience.

The handle of a matte black sight cane came down onto the moulding of the wood doors. A small beat of a tune and he steps back. He’s there with purpose but he glances around like theres something he wasn’t expecting, a glint of a smile tickled his lips. With hardly a thought, he raises the cane for another knock but is startled by the indication of something on the other side of the door and reeled the cane back into his close hold. A hand swiftly moving to push up his sunglasses and straighten his jacket. A hesitant force signals similar behaviour behind the door, so he speaks out carefully, “Hello? Is someone there?”
